r/Entitledparents "GIVE MY SON YOUR XBOX X! NOW!"

r/Entitledparents In today's episode, Karen goes out shopping for a PS5 to give to her precious little angel. Unfortunately, PS5s are in hot demand right now, so the store was all sold out. OP managed to buy the last one, so Karen does the only logical thing: she tries to buy OP's console for less than he just purchased it. When that doesn't work, she tries to steal it from him... twice!

I get that English is essentially considered the business language of the world but try asking one these kinds why they dont speak spanish, Portuguese or mandarin which are more common as native languages and watch them blow up. 😂 last time I asked a karen that as a reverse question to "but English is the 'world language' isnt it?" she crashed like she was running on windows and got a blue screen. 😂 pretty hilarious. Doesn't help that she had had my second language (German) in school and college and still sucked at it. 😈

Meh, as a parent, I agree with we own everything we PAY for. If everything they own is theirs, then what right do parents have to take or restrict it as punishment? However, everything your kid has is on conditional loan and while you can repossess it until certain conditions are fulfilled, selling it (or even taking it for self-interest) is not acceptable.

Totally agreed hijacking a 4 year old's birthday party is a trashy selfish move. Regarding gender reveals - ultrasounds these days are largely accurate about the physical gender of the child. (Yes, I specified "physical" to address the question of gender identity.) In many cases, other members of the family, and often friends, DO care about the gender of the child. Yes, it's "antiquated" and whatnot, according to some, but disrespecting what another person values flies in the face of progressive thinking. If they care about the child's gender, why should they be shamed for it? But yeah, shaming Karen for poor planning and trying to steal a kid's birthday? Go right ahead. And THREE baby showers? I have two kids, and each only had ONE baby shower. That's plenty. Wtf lady?

I don't understand these gender reveal parties. Most people do the reveal at the baby shower. Why do you need an entirely separate party. And all you need is two baby showers, at max, if there is a reason. I think my mom had two for me, the other one was thrown by family when she went to go visit them because they all lived in another state so a lot of family couldn't make the first one (or something like that)

Of course, refunds are a thing, but you need a LEGITIMATE, valid reason to get it! I've seen so many videos where Karens got refunds when the food was gone ( obviously you enjoyed it ), worn clothes, used make up, etc. That wouldn't fly here! Except for the make up, under certain conditions.. If she watched the movie until the end, she doesn't get anything. No free snacks either. And the famous "I want compensation bc you wasted my time" is also a big no! 😂

That birthday party story reminded me a bit of my own experience when I was a bit younger. My dad has some friends and they have children, I used to be friends with the girl as she was around my age albeit me being a bit older. The parents had a pool party like usual for their two children and that day was on my birthday. My parents asked me if I wanted to go and I was like yeah sure I'm not having a party of my own and I have friend to talk to so why not. Bad idea. Once I got there the girl said hello but I noticed she was with other friends. I said hello back and went to change. After that the girl refused to talk to me. I didn't want to interupt her being with friends as I thought I'd be a nuisance to them so I left them alone. I was miserable for the whole party and I didn't want to go in the pool after that and my mom was upset at me for it. After that day the girl would refuse to talk to me any time I met her. I tried to talk to her but she just gave me very short awnsers and would avoid me.

She whined about us being closed, and insisted we serve her. I also had to open the next morning, and there she was again and loudly said WHAT?! THEY’RE OPEN, BUT ISN’T IT STILL BAD OUTSIDE? We didn’t get all we were supposed to, but my husband still drove me up there and was sitting there drinking coffee. I work at a bookstore with an older card reader that doesn't take Applepay and it doesn't register a purchase when people put in the PIN for their card. Because of this, we have multiple signs that say, "Don't put your PIN in the machine." I think I can count on one hand the number of people who didn't read that and put in their PIN anyway. Thankfully, they're nice and recognize their mistake occasionally or after I explain, but it's super annoying.

The majority of the water was in the prep, cook, service area. The seating area carpet was wet as hell but not "floating". As the lunch rush began, I simply did my normal routine, followed with softly... "The sewers have backed up throughout the restaurant." Two similar stories to the Karen in Norway, both related to my service in the Navy. In 1996 my boat made a port call at Tromso, Norway (above the Arctic Circle). While none of my shipmates nor I played the part of the "Ugly American," we were pleased to learn most of the natives did speak English really well, and we made adjustments in the situations where the language gap was a little difficult. Happened to hit a movie while I was there, which turned out to be "Muppet Treasure Island." The movie soundtrack was in English but the subtitles were in Norwegian - though they in no way bothered our enjoyment of the film. Had to adjust to local custom - for instance while dining in the local Burger King a couple just stuck their 5 year old daughter at the table with my shipmate and I and walked away to order their food simply assuming we would keep an eye on her and keep her safe until they returned. (We did, though we were taken completely by surprise!) Fun fact: after two whole months at sea with no fresh milk, the first thing I did upon reaching Tromso was find a convenience store and purchase a small carton of milk. I was halfway through it before I took the time to really look at the carton and realize I had purchased reindeer milk. (It was still good!) Second story takes place in 2003 and my boat makes a port visit to Koper, Slovenia (part of the former Yugoslavia). On one of my non-duty days I was a part of a "tour" to nearby Trieste, Italy along with three other shipmates and a handful of crew members from the sub tender that accompanied us. My submarine shipmates and I always made an effort to learn at least basic local language in order to communicate when dining or in case of emergency. One of the female tender crew was more like the Karen in your Reddit story who complained that the Italians weren't speaking English and that she should learn to do so.

Depends on the country you're going to, I sometimes go to the Philippines and go some day to the movies because movies come out sooner there than in my country and I understand English, but it's stupid to go to a country that doesn't speak English and expect them to have movies in english

I get it (going to the movies on vacation not expecting English). Kids can be a handful and sometimes it’s easier to agree to go to a movie with them than keep telling them it can wait until you get home. It’s not ideal but if there’s a block of time you haven’t planned out they’re going to enjoy it more than sitting in the hotel or walking around town.

Hey, here is a tip for all you tourists and from my own experience. As long as your polite and if you try to speak their language. They will be polite back. They will either help you with their language or end up speaking english. When I was visiting France, I made a great effort to speak their language the best I could. Pretty much every person I met smiled, either helping me learn or speaking English. When you make an effort to learn and respect the culture, they really go out of their way to help you because they feel respected. In turn, you get an incredible experience that "tourist destinations" will never give you.

I have been to Israel. In Tel Aviv, most people don't speak much English, but they do usually speak a little. I do not speak any Hebrew. Once, I went to a Pizza Hut (look, it was up the road, I was hungry, don't judge) and the cashier literally had to ask another customer to translate. Eventually all I had to do was point to the pizza I wanted and thank the cashier. It's so easy to be polite, even if you don't speak the language. I didn't love Israel on the whole and I probably wouldn't choose to go back unless it was to see my great-uncles and their families (lots of second cousins, and one family has three or four cats), but it's honestly not that hard to respect the culture and language. Some people just don't speak English, people!

I worked tech support for a US cable/internet/phone provider and one day this guy calls up in the late afternoon demanding a tech be sent out immediately to run new lines to his house. I inform him that at this time no appointments can be booked for today. The guy just keeps saying that he needs a tech right now. I ask what is so important as he only has cable with us. He tells me that it is an emergency as there is a forest fire in the area and it is about to cover over the only road out from where his cottage is and since he plans on staying there, he needs to be able to watch the news coverage. I told him that until the area is safe for our techs, we would not be sending anyone, and wished him the best of luck. I wish I had looked up his account again so I could see what happened later.

The OP whose SIL wanted her to cancel her son's birthday party reminded me of a story about my 8th birthday. My Dad's step mother called my house on my birthday during my party and demanded my mom send the kids home and get over to her house for my cousin's birthday party. His birthday is a week after mine, but they were having it early since my aunt was in the Navy and was going back on the ship. My Mom was livid! She told my step grandmother off without missing a beat! She had done tons of entitled bs to my mom for years and got shut down every time.
