    Thank you. When working in interiors or at night and you need to be mobile, nothing beats these lights. That's why I like them so much. And now they even work with a Profoto trigger too. So even better.

    This video was very helpful. I took advantage of light and motion’s Black Friday sale and bought the Reflex S. I was happy to learn from this video that I can use my MagMod modifiers as well. One thing I wanted to ask is if you are shooting at night or in low light situations like you demonstrated in this video, does it have a modeling light option and if not, what do you suggest for checking that everything is in focus? I guess if I had an assistant they could switch it over to continuous then back to strobe but I mostly work alone.

    Do you have a video explaining the flash burst for shooting? I noticed that they have 2 different types of lights 10fps and 20fps. Do you match your camera to the bursts?

    Love these llights!! Use Bowens mount softboxes with them when needed. The dome diffuser is always on the light.

    what sizes are you Bowens mounted softboxes? When I use mine with the Stella Pro Reflex S light, it cannot hold the weight and constantly drops down. I even have the Stella Pro new and improved Bowens adapter and it still falls down and doesn't hold the position.

    Hi Roberto, thank you for this video, very helpful ! I am still hesitant though between purchasing a cLx 10, a Reflex s or going crazy and getting the Profit B10x plus. My main concern is the power of the light. I want to be able to use it in a bright sunny day to overpower the sun light. Also, since I am a magma user, I already have all the accessories and gel. Have you tried the B10x plus ? What are your thoughts about it ?

    I like them, but I’m all invested in my Profoto lights. It seems like this is for certain types of situations. Are you pivoting from Profoto to these Stella lights?

  • @RobertoValenzuela

    @RobertoValenzuela

    2 жыл бұрын

    Not at all!!! I’m all Profoto all the way! These lights can’t compete with the power output of a Profoto strobe. Two very different type of lights. These are mainly a strong LED light with a digital burst component. A Profoto is a full on powerful strobe. Completely different tools.

    @@RobertoValenzuela I guess what my concern is is there a reason to you one over the other, I was in a similar photo situation and I use my A10’s in the same manor hand held. Also, I’m from Houston, How did I now know about this designer/ model and MUA. 🫣

    @@gregshawphotography8828 The LED on a Profoto is more than for focus assist than anything else. These Reflex Lights are dedicated LED lights that can go to 9000 lumens of power. That's a crazy amount for a light that weighs less than 2 lbs. These Reflex lights do NOT replace a Profoto at all. Let me make that very clear. They are a tool to have when working in interiors or nighttime shoots where you don't want to bring a huge production of lights and huge modifiers. When you want to keep things light and mobile, these Reflex lights shine. But they don't compete with the sun either. So, it's more for Interiors and nighttime shoots.

    Would the heat coming from the Reflex S melt the Magmod modifiers?

  • @RobertoValenzuela

    @RobertoValenzuela

    7 ай бұрын

    Yes it would, but only if you leave it on continuous light. If you use the digital burst instead, you are good! Keep the constant light off or at its minimum power.

    Yes, if I understand your intended question, you can trigger it to flash while in constant and it will then return back to constant light.

    The final results look like they were shot using a fairly large softbox. Hard to imagine that this is JUST the effect of the magmod modifiers. Would it be safe to say that your use of MULTIPLE reflex lights, resulted in a NET EFFECT similar to having a large modifier? Or would one get similar results with a single reflex light and modifying with the magmod? I can't help but think that the key here is having multiple lights in use at once.

  • @RobertoValenzuela

    Kevin that is a good question. I used one or two Reflex S lights for most of these photos. I modified the lights using their own modifiers and also MagMod modifiers that should only be used in Strobe mode; otherwise, the continuous light could burn the rubber of Magmod. But the video shows what I did and how I did it. No big softboxes were used at all. Hope this helps.

  • @Zetaphotography
    @Zetaphotography Жыл бұрын

    Roberto. Be careful with your modified modifiers. These lights burned a hole in my wagon. I placed one light and moved my wagon maybe 30ft and found a burned hole in my buggy. God bless my child is not in my wagon or may have burned her.

    I'm sure they will actually if you leave them on long enough. But one of the best features of these lights is their burst mode. The burst mode can be used all day without a problem because the LED light is not constantly on during this mode. But if you want to use the constant LED light with MagMod, I would be careful and monitor that they don't get too hot. For me, during my shoot, they never got too hot. The only modifier that was a problem was the MagMod snoot. That one got hot for sure. So we didn't leave the light on for too long when using that mod.
