I was overwhelmed to purchase tickets for a live performance at The Circle Star, San Carlos, Ca., my requested purchased tickets was in a row near the end of the Star Isle. I screamed so loud, when he came through the curtains walking towards the stage, he looked at me & kindly extended his hand!! I also, was blessed to see him live at the San Jose Jazz Festival. That song will live on and the good memories will linger but I feel as if I lost a special connection to happier times in my life. That song takes me back to the days when I still had three living grand parents, all my Aunt's and Uncles, and both of my parents. In the back of my mind I hoped that one day I would eventually hear him perform it live. Just like the tale of elusive love that chance is gone. #RIPMrCaldwell

I have just learned about his untimely death on the Internet today. The first and last time I listened to him was back in the 90's on the Smooth Jazz radio station station up here in Washington state, 98.9 FM KWJZ. The first song that I remember him singing was "Don't Lead Me On". Aside from that, today, to me, Bobby Caldwell was the equivalent of say, Marc Martel and Tom Chaplin of the rock band Keane. Again, just like Marc Martel himself, Michael Buble has got nothing, absolutely nothing on Bobby Caldwell, zero, zip, nada, zilch to the 9th or 10th degree. But he was there, whether we noticed him or not. He was a good guy and a brilliant singer and musician. His spirit, legacy, and music will live on forever because we'll never forget it. Rest In Peace, Bobby Caldwell 🙂👍.
