QWER - "Discord" + "T.B.H" MV | REACTION

Музыка

More bands please! There's a big j-rock influence here right? Feels that way to me at least.

Their songs are also crazy popular in Korea, I believe they're charting top 10 on all the charts with TBH and around top 50 for Discord fun fact: Magenta (the bassist) is a huge tripleS fan and she even went to their Girls Never Die comeback showcase :)

😂 crazy how they came together. CEO is a KZreadr that just wanted to create his own girl group band. Some of the members didn’t even play instruments they were just popular twitch streamers. They sound amazing live ❤😊💯

Another interesting fact about the CEO egg is that he was ex-UDT/SEAL, Korea’s equivalent of Navy Seal

Their vocalist, Siyeon, was actually a former J-idol from NMB48. I think that's the reason why their songs are heavily inspired by J-Rock + J-Pop

One of the reasons. Kim Egg (their CEO/producer) is a huge fan of anime & manga and also J-Rock music so it was always his dream to create a K-ON/Bocchi The Rock-ish girl band. It also helps that Magenta, Chodan, and Hina are big anime/manga/J-Rock fans themselves. SiYeon is just the final piece of the puzzle to complete Kim Egg's vision and it just so happened that she's an ex-JPOP idol. And what a final piece she was.

As people mentioned during the live, the bald guy is their CEO, he's a famous gym guy (to make it simple) you may have seen him on some variety shows. He basically decided to do a band after talking with Chodan (the drummer) and learning she knew how to play drums. He is a big fan of animes like Bocchi the rock and K-on who are 2 show about all girl rock band and he wanted to do something like this so it only makes sense to have such a jrock influence in their music. There is a superb series on their YT channel about the formation of the group and the recruiting of the members, it's one of the best things i've watched. They have 2b-sides along their debut and their CB is a 7 tracks Mini-albums, you should check it it's pretty damn good. As for live performance they have plenty of around the internet. Both Magenta (bass) and Chodan (drums) were very successful streamers prior to the group and are still streaming. Hina (guitar/keyboard) is a very famous titktoker, like she has 4M follower or something like that iirc, as for Siyeon (vocal) she was a member of NMB48 a jpop group and yes they are all adults (youngest being 23yo).

their label is tamago production, a label solely created for QWER by their CEO Kim Egg, the bald guy that looks like roshi from dragon ball in the reaction shot on TBH.

from what i understand after binging them for the last week(and being a big music production/details nerd) they are signed to Tamago who is either then itself in a deal of some sort with 3Y which is Kakaotalk's music subsidiary, one of SK's Yahoo or Google type companies. It made more sense how they blew up so quickly, not that I didnt enjoy the youtube series and the music! But nothing is truly random luck anymore lol
