I'm 23 and I don't know jack about technology lol! I actually work in a nursing home in the recovery area. There's a 60 year old woman who's had a fall and shes recovering but she actually works with a big tech company doing an engineering and development job, and has been doing it for over 26 years. Typically Ive learned that it's older and old people who's doing those kinda of jobs. Lol my husband is 11 years older than me and he started small like on phones and computers then he started with minor developments.. but he went into financing cause he had the opportunity to make more money. But he was 31 when I met him and it took him a while to move up in software. The older you get the more you learn. And once you hit a certain age you'll start to decline. But young people are still learning not developing and depending on the person once they hit maybe 70 that's when they'll start declining. My husband's step father is an engineer and currently still has his own company and does mostly everything... he's 79 years old.

Thing is 99% of people out there young or old "have no clue how this works", they might know how to use the functions and interface but that doesn't mean they know how it works. Hell i knew programmers and testers at AMI (who probably helped develop the BIOS that computer is using) that didn't really know how half the systems worked. With that said QVC has a long history of peddling low end dells that were notorious for high failure rates.

Peter Principle. You see that at major corporations all of the time. I live in French Canada. When we get clients from the USA visiting our shop, potential contracts worth millions of dollars, the staff members who can barely speak English are the ones chosen to give them a tour of the shop. Meanwhile my mother tongue is English, as well as others within the shop, and they never ask us to give our clients the tour. DUH?! Some people cannot let go of power and/or attention. I would say it's more of an issue of competence and a lack of proper management. Sometimes ego can tend to get in the way of a business generating revenue. This video would be a prime example of it.

Yeahh All those 3D and motion sensing tech that worked 60% of the time.
It never fails to amaze me how they have the old people promoting new technology like a lot of them have no clue how this works😭

@@mrs.noneyabuisness5025 So true! If it wasn't for my old ass self, my boys would not know how to cook seasonally or ancestrally, how to sew on buttons, self care for them and their children, how to make money, how to wipe their butts. May not be computer science but they know how to survive.

The problem is that, there is no other photo to be displayed, hence next and previous buttons are disabled.

But seriously, as a former salesman, she handled that as well as anyone could have. I mean it could have been a legit issue with the big screen but I hear sales BS loud and clear but again, pro level, real time salesmanship.

Pretty confident there was only one photo in the folder. The gesture thing worked at 0:18 and also looked to be registering on the laptop. Can also see it greyed out which I think means nothing else is in the folder.
All she had to do was click into the active window. A click in the middle would have sufficed and then gesture would have worked.

Please send help. It all started with the punctured mattress. I figured I'd check out this video but now I see I've joined y'all and now I can't get out of the QVC fail pit!
Keep gesturing, honey.
I'm gesturing
I now know why hand gestures on laptops didn't take off. Also, I find it interesting that she was showing the Windows 7 media player and photo viewer on Windows 8.1 instead of the Windows 8.x native apps, which shows me how much lots of people didn't like Microsoft's 'complete rethink of Windows' they had with Windows 8.x.
She has only one picture on the computer. She needs more pics to access the swipe.
She did a great job of keeping it together, was not as awkward as a few others
QVC is probably the channel that tries to sell you the fewest things per hour compared to the others.
Me who's just moving my hand to rub my eyes. Computer: Thinks I want to gesture past 30 photos.
If I have to stand over the computer to gesture I might as well use the arrow keys lol
okay but when she shared her screen to the tv at the beginning that was pretty cool

Definitely can't claim false advertising on this one!
When the engineers include a feature that is totally pointless, just so they can brag about the added features.
I have no idea how I ended up with nonstop QVC fail videos.
I will wave past this one, thank you.
2010 vibes, love the nostalgia
She was smooth tho lol “you get an opportunity to check out this new technology with the holiday deal” Damnn lol 😂
Even if it did work, I feel like it takes more effort and more room for technical error by waving instead of just pushing a button...
Yea.. hitting the slideshow button is way worse than looking like a schizo on the street
She handled that super professionally!
It didn't change because there was only 1 picture in the album. Sometimes the cause is as simple as that. If you look carefully at 0:20, the feature did work.
In KZread algorithm we trust. Let's all unite and reminisce about a time when this video was published

Lordy, and I thought the Olympic luge fails was a deep rabbit hole…
What we missed was the Christian Bale style rant. Her yelling at how she is done with that lap top professionally
Legend has it she's still gesturing and claiming it works.
KZread why did you send me down this QVC fail blackhole
I think the problem is she only opened up one picture instead of an album.
Lets minimize the window and enlarge it. That'll solve everything
Oh yeah, that gesture is SO MUCH MORE CONVENIENT THAN CLICKING A BUTTON!
I think I’ve found a whole new genre😂
Waving her arm like a magician lol 😂
Legend has it, she still waving at that screen today .
Lol I thought it was going to gesture to an inappropriate pic.
but she's so Adorable!
In my IT phone support voice: *did you try shutting it off and turning it back on?*
The stance is hilarious
It just looked like they only had one stock picture. It should have worked with more of them. You can see the computer accepting the gesture.
well the problem is that she only has 1 picture in that folder, or the "go to next" button on screen would have been blue.
who else likes watching movies with other people and talks with their hands alot? Now who else wants to constantly be watching a new movie all night
Her gesture dance has enough spunk to go viral
This is what happens when you commit your code just before the demo
There was a mattress. And NOW im here. 👍
I kept waiting for a dirty picture to show up on the computer when she was swiping
A sync problem between the computer and the big screen!? She has no idea that that's not even close to the problem.
Obviously, this same crew worked on the Rust movie set with Alec Baldwin.
Yooo. Is this the same guy from the folding ladder fall.. when he said u gotta lock it.. I forgot to lock it😂😂
What she's doing wrong is not saying "Abracadabra" as she gestures.
Was that the only picture in the folder by any chance?
I thought she was going to put "adult content" in the screen😄😄😄 I remember when something like that happened to a college professor in the middle of full class presentation...
I need a subscription to these.
suburban mom's and computers on TV, QVC never learn
Meh... I personally started with the granny caller cussing on air and now I'm down the hole lol
The main point is --> send all of your hard-earned money to QVC to purchase cheap Chinese products that don't function properly (and will wind-up on the ocean floor in a month or two)
She handled it well
The screen sharing was enough…. Why trying to exceeed!!! 😂
Through the years a lot of these gimmicks have come and gone.
Dell owes that woman, for saving their semi shitty product.
The gesture is working, but i tjhink she only had one photos lol
All these features migrating into computer… migrating from where? Mechanics?
The volume control works 😂
Like how long ago was this that she is excited about HDMI connections?
Rrrighhhhhht….. sure it exist honey.
a gesture problem is no big deal.. it would've been a real "fail" if some obscene video/photo unexpectedly got shown
Because, when I give presentations, I love to focus on, and wave to my computer--turning my back on my audience. If you've got to stand in front of your computer to "gesture," why not just tap the right arrow button on the keyboard? Who thought that was a good idea?
I think it was working before but they left it on the last photo in the folder
😅🤣🤣😂😂🤣😂her behind is crazy lol
Window's photo/gallery software sucks. For starters, you have to highlight all the photos, right click, then open to be able to scroll left and right.
Gestures are so much better because it’s so hard to push a button.
It’s a dell. Chances are it crashed.
Plot Twist: There's only one photo.
I gestured and sent my studio monitors to 100 percent leading to hearing damage for life. Fuck this product.
