Quote management in Salesforce || Salesforce Tutorial || Rajesh Chatterjee

In the previous article/video, we discussed opportunity management in Salesforce. Before moving to quote management, let us see some other features of the opportunities tab.
On the right side of the opportunity page, there are a few additional features (related lists) offered by Salesforce. They are
Product
This feature allows you to add the products you want to sell. It contains product details like product name, quantity, date, product family.
Notes and attachments
This feature allows you to add notes and attachments related to the particular opportunity. You can upload the file in this section.
Contact roles
This feature allows you to add the role of the contact attached to the account. If you have more than one contact for a particular account, you can add roles for each contact. Contact role enables you to understand the hierarchy of the contact in their organization and gives you a better understanding of whom to contact for a sale.
Partners
If the account you are dealing with is a partner of an existing account, this feature of Salesforce allows you to tag the accounts.
Stage history
Stage history is a feature of Salesforce that helps you track the changes taking place with an opportunity. It consists of details like the present and previous status of the opportunity, who changed the opportunity and when etc.
Quotes
Quotes is a feature in Salesforce that reflects the proposed price for a product or service. This feature allows you to generate and email the quote to the customer.
Quote Management in Salesforce
The quote is a record of the proposed price of the product or service offering. After adding the product to an opportunity, Salesforce automatically links the product with the quote and allows you to email the quote with its inbuilt email feature.
How to enable quotes in Salesforce?
Quotes are not enabled by default in Salesforce. Salesforce admin must enable the quote. Once the quote is enabled, you can use the quote feature and also disable it if required.
For enabling quotes
1. Go to Setup
2. Search for quotes
3. Click on quote settings
4. Press the enable button
5. Check all the boxes and save
Quotes feature will be available after stage history
Creating a quote in Salesforce
Select New quote from the drop-down menu and fill in the details.
Your quote is created. You can click on the quote and visit the quote page.
Quote also has status and path that helps you mark the current status of the quote. Salesforce allows you to create a PDF and email the quote.
You as a sales executive can update the status of the quote depending on the approval or rejection by the customer. Salesforce allows you to create multiple quotes for the same opportunity. If the customer is not interested in your product, you can close the opportunity as an opportunity lost.
You can create multiple opportunities for a single account in Salesforce. Instead of beginning the entire lead cycle again, you can create a new opportunity in the same account and cross-sell or upsell your products and services.
As a result, Salesforce allows you conveniently manage all the sales data in a single place.
