Watching this video was a profound moment for me. It's as if you're speaking directly to my soul. I'm currently also on day 5 of my journey towards sobriety, and your words have given me the strength to push through the toughest moments. Your story isn't just inspiring; it's a lifeline for people like me. Thank you for sharing your struggle and victory - it's a beacon of hope in my own battle against addiction.

Day 4 for me now I've been/am a functioning dependant and although losing my cousin to a related cancer rather than doing the "normal" thing I hit this dammed stuff even harder over the last 12 months but after seeing a previous vlog of yours about the day of an alcoholic I was forced to face where I was ultimately heading. Thanks from a new sib.

Excellent way of talking, getting to the point and relating to the average person. I stopped alcohol for seven years, then drank odd during. A year ago I stopped again and have benefited. My problem is suffering fibromyalgia and over the years more pain killers from doctors, co-codomol - gabapentin - nefopam. Doctor advised reducing and I have halved in a year. I want to give them all up.

Alcohol is way over-rated. Quitting alcohol is very helpful for many reasons. Give it a try and you may like it, a whole lot.

From my research some people go into a protracted withdrawal whereby symptoms can last for months. Did you find that with your withdrawal after the 5 days that you mentioned?

I did , I suffered with PAWS and some symptoms kept returning months after . But with clean diet , exercise etc I fully recovered . But everyone is different, depending on amounts used, length of time addicted , type of opiate etc
