Quilting 101: How to Bind a Quilt

#beginnerquilting #howtoquilt #howtosew
Hi friends! Today I’ll be showing you how to bind your quilt! There are several ways to go about binding your quilt, so today I’m just going to show you a couple of ways that I like to do it. I’ll also be showing you some tips to help you get your binding right the first time!

** IN THIS VIDEO YOU WILL LEARN: **
*Create straight edge binding
*Create bias binding (EDITED: True BIAS binding is when you cut your fabric on the bias as well as the ends of the binding strips so that you can bend it around curved edges easier. This tutorial shows you how to create binding that is joined on the bias. Sorry for any confusion!)
*Machine bind
*Hand bind (This usually means attach the binding to the front side using your machine, then hand sew the binding on the back side to finish it off.)

Great tutorial. I remember my grandma piecing, quilting and binding her quilts by hand. What treasures my goal is to at least hand quilt a quilt on a frame, some day 💛. She kindly let me do a few of the cathedral window pieces when I was about 10. She probably didn't use them lol 😅. But, she did let me quite some on her frame. Cherished memories

Jewel Inger You are wonderful! I did my first binding on a table runner. It looked pretty good so I grabbed last years table runner and did that binding too! Now I'm ready to bind my first bed quilt. Thank you! I'm also grateful for your teaching method. I quickly snap off the verbose tube tuters. The wordier tuters get the more confusing to beginners and the more annoying to advanced quilters who are trying to learn a technique. Also, your video filming is great. Have you considered giving classes for tube tuters?
