I make dishrags this way from leftover bits (not pieced) and find that they are my favorites for dishwashing cores. You can actually use old towels for those and just cut the terry that is in better shape.

Very pretty! I want to make one for my granddaughter. I think this idea will also work for decorative dish and hand towels. I make baby burp clothes this way using terry cloth and quilting cotton. I also use store bought flannel receiving blankets and make burp cloths to match the receiving blankets for gifts.
