Quilt Shop Drop In - Episode 2 - The Fabric Chic
"Quilt Shop Drop-In" (a new 3-part series) follows Jenny, the dynamic face of Missouri Star Quilt Company, as she crisscrosses the country, visiting quilt shops to reconnect with old friends, learn new tricks, and infuse each community with her infectious passion for quilting.
Through heartwarming reunions, shared stories, and the discovery of diverse quilting traditions, Jenny weaves a vibrant tapestry that celebrates the timeless art of quilting while stitching together the fabric of friendship across America.
Step into The Fabric Chic, a contemporary quilt haven in the heart of KC Northland, where modern fabrics and innovative designs intertwine. Founded just a few years ago by the resilient and passionate Cindy, who, despite a finger-cutting mishap that led to some of MSQC's rules, has seamlessly integrated a sewing space for classes and Q&A sessions. Join Cindy and Jenny as they explore the art of quilting in this MSQC-friendly oasis, sharing stories of inspiration, teaching, and the joy of creating a space for the diverse and thriving quilting community near Kansas City.

I wish I had a shop like that near me; inspiring and friendly.
I love the attitude and focus of Cindy's shop and how she wants her employees to know customers by name and their likes. I dislike going into one of the quilt shops in my community because they assume I'm a seasoned quilter and talk over my head. And other times, I feel ignored when they see a familiar face come into the store, I'm a nobody. I travel through KC often on the way up north and would love to visit this store!
I am blessed to have the ability to watch Jenny spread her love of quilting to others ❤️
I love that you visit quilt shops and spend time with customers and owners!!
Thanks Jenny... who evers idea... it was awesome and I love the genuine nature of this video :)
I love the quilt shop drop in! So fun to see shops I have not been & to meet the owner! Such beautiful quilts on display! Can’t wait to see more drop in videos!
I love that Ron is participating in the quilt shop drop ins. He looks like he’s having a blast and the quilters are enjoying his presence. My husband was so supportive of my wish to open a quilt shop but sadly passed away before we could make it happen. Love, love, love your shop and your sewing lounge. Best wishes for your continued growth and success. ❤

I really enjoyed this video. The Quilt Shop drop in is a great idea, love hearing from owners of the shop.
You all make me so happy! Thank you for sharing another wonderful part of the quilting world
I loved this 😍 Thank you Cindy and Jenny 😀😂😍♥️😊🐥
Not all fabric stores are created equal! I wish I lived near this town and shop! I was really struck by the comment "I want all my employees to know our customers by name." I HATE feeling like a nuisance when I am trying to match a fabric or choose some for a quilt! I DO have the great shops near me - don't get me wrong, but this feels "next level." I also love the share night you have - it is not quite as intense as joining a guild! Sometime we just to say "I did this" and know the people sitting next to you understand what that means!
What a charming store! Thank you for telling their story, and the future stories of other shops. It is a super idea!
Such a wonderful video!! Love seeing shops and interactions
What a nice story.❤

This is such a great shop! I visited it two years ago and bought fabric to make a quilt. The ladies were so helpful in picking the fabric. I hope to go back when I’m in that area again!

I love this new series, Jenny!! I love that you guys highlight other quilt shops. You all are so welcoming to all quilters. ❤❤❤❤
For those going to Hamilton, Missouri, this quilt store is so close to the airport. Make a stop there, you will not regret it. Also nice choices of places to eat near the shop.
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us. Jenny, your husband is a "keeper"! What a good man he is for going with you and sharing your love of quilting with others!

Awesome Jenny. Thanks sew much.
That was awesome! Thanks!
I love that you dropped in on my favorite local shop. I’ve been shopping at The Fabric Chic since they opened. Cindi and staff are so friendly and helpful. Cindi has helped me find fabrics for many of my projects and she makes it a very fun process. I think I might just hop in the car and head on over there! Thanks for dropping in on them and sharing such a fun time with us.
“Sew” enjoyed this !! ❤

I total understand I started learning to quilt after my mom past .. she wanted me to learn it so bad.. enjoy the show
Congratulations Cindy! You have a lovely quilt shop. My friend, Lisa Shepard Stewart, was also featured in the same issue of Better Homes and Gardens! Her shop is Cultured Expressions in Rahway, New Jersey. She has the most beautiful African fabrics!! I have purchased many times!❣️And I LOVE your quilt on the cover! Churn Dash is one of my favorite quilt blocks!

Lovely interview.
Jenny, I’m so curious to know how you and your daughter lost so much weight? You look great and I’m having so much trouble losing even 5 pounds.

I understand weight loss is a struggle and can be incredibly discouraging. But this really isn't an appropriate question.

Ron held up a slanted houses quilt …what is the pattern or kit??
What is that certification they were talking about, somehow related to the fish wall hanging?
Jenny, I love your hooded jacket . Can you tell me where you got it?
Ron’s face 😅
