    Remarkable video - You give so much valuable information and share your personal process exceedingly well. I've encountered some things you mention. In particular, I'm great with glueing my individual pieces together (last year's snowflakes for instance) and then I wanted to stiffen/seal them to work as lovely ornaments. Wow, I mostly ruined them all. I used modpodge on the back and the result was that all my open circles gave way and mostly became open completely. They curls simply gave up & disappeared. I'm hoping your video will be a big guide. So I must say, thank you ever so much for your beautiful detail and explanations. I hope my luck improves.

    Thanks for the video! Been quilling for over 10 years and not once thought to use the kabuki brush and I never would have thought to pounce it not wipe it. How do you ensure your kabuki doesn’t get clogged up with glue? Dish soap and water? Also, if I don’t want my finish sealer to be glossy, what would you use? I always put my art behind glass but it would b handy to know which sealer to use. I’ve been using mod podge acrylic spray on some pieces.

    Thank you for watching! Great questions! Since I use PVA (school glue), it cleans up with just water. The spray I use also comes in a flat finish. Any clear spray, no mater the level of gloss, will work just fine. Again, thanks for watching! Please come join us on Facebook in Quilltopia!

    Thank you for this video. I'm starting to get back into quilling after a long break from the artform and my biggest frustration was always that none of the books or online tutorials ever told you how to finish/seal a piece. Do you ever make jewelry? I'm wondering how to make it feel sturdy enough to wear without feeling like I'm going to smash it. Most glazes I've tried discolored the paper.

  • @quillingquelly1785

    @quillingquelly1785

    I'm not sure "expert" applies...lol. But, I'd try a craft glue first. If that doesn't do it, "Goop" brand makes several adhesives that have different specialties. The Craft version may do it, if not, I'd check your local hardware store (Ace Hardware, where I am). Goop has glues that are specific to the types of materials you need to adhere and they likely have one for Acrylic/plastics that would work fine. Good luck!! Let me know how it turns out!!

    I neglected to say, that any glass shop can cut glass for you while you wait. Plexiglass is sometimes harder to find, but most cities will have a plastics supplier/manufacturer. In my case, I work with Stained Glass as well, so I'm going to cut a piece that I've had forever. :) I'll border it with copper and patina it to look black.
