What is better? Celox or QuikClot? And is granule powder better than gauze version?

Aside from the difference in packaging and name, what separates this from Combat Gauze?

Does it have different shelf life? Performance? It looks to be missing the x-ray strip, but other than that I don't know

External dressing only, combat gauze can be pushed into the wound against the artery that's bleeding. The x-ray strip is necessary because of the internal usage.

Would it be OK to pack this into a wound?

Not at all, if you do that, it can fester and gather a lot of bacteria and viruses, and all sorts of stuff you don't want. A simple wrap-around is fine.

We pack the wound in the military. The civilian version says to put in on top of the wound. I'm guessing it depends on the severity of the would (gunshot vs shallow wound) and how quickly they can get treatment.

Xavier Garcia Agencies / organizations / protocols around the world have been teaching wound packing for years in traumatic injuries where a tourniquet isn’t available or can’t be used (like the groin). Infection can be treated in the hospital. But for you to get to the hospital you should probably stop the bleeding.
