It's an awesome tool when you want cool fog. When I built mine a few years ago, I used an ABS toilet flange on each end rather than a dryer vent because it was heavier duty.

Can you double up the ice? Put a block of ice in the bottom of the cooler then still put dry ice on a grate to build a ceiling as well??? So you have a regular block of ice + a ceiling of dry ice???

You should use a kitty litter box that's what we do it works awesome. Plus ice cubes allow it stay on the ground longer because it has to run through it more.

Why don't u patent a chill box then we could buy them from you, also several years ago at my wedding reception an ionizer of some sort was used in my display it was just dropped in water and instant fog like BAM! I don't know what that was and haven't been able to find one, do you know what I'm talking about?

"They're pretty hard to find" 5000 youtube fog chiller vids later lol ; ) It helps the effect if you leave a 1 inch gap between the fog machine and the inlet. that's what the vortex fusion product instructions say that most of these DIY chillers are based on. yours is more like the original DIY 'fog on the rocks' which predated it fwiw. for my $40 worth + DIY time for a $120 vortex fusion knockoff if the fog doesn't lay low I do like the lingering atmosphere sometimes better. it should be noted use a low wattage fog machine so it doesn't shoot it thru too fast not giving it a chance to chill. happy fogging ^v^

Please be careful with dry ice folks, especially if your model is low to the ground. The CO that's dissipated by the dry ice can push away the oxygen and cause suffocation. P.S.: You could also just fill up the cooling box with warm water and throw dry ice in, you'd only need an exhaust hole.
