Actually, that doesn't work. There's a hidden friendship value in the game that makes villagers less likely to think about moving out, and people looked in the code and found that for whatever reason, bullying your villagers *doesn't* lower their friendship value. Only not talking to them will lower it.

Only if another villager moves in after the one whom you said decided to ask to leave. The villager whom most recently moved-in cannot ask to move out. For instance, if you have all 10 villagers living on your island, the one who’s in #10 in order is the one whom cannot ask to move out.

Skye, whom I invited during the 3-housing plots quest didn’t ask to move out until after I set out a housing plot for the first campsite visitor (Beardo), but thankfully she still lives on my island to this day and has been on my island for nearly 14 months now. Koramora has proof in the full version of this tutorial that the one whom most recently moved in cannot ask to move out and that the only way to move out your newest villager is via the campsite method (if your island is FULL with all 10 villagers/housing plots occupied). @Mina Fox you should also keep in mind that not everyone has the same gaming experience.i know when their were a ton of glitches and issues goin on, I had none.

You honestly really should be able to kick them out whenever you want. Go to Nook and have them evicted when it's convenient for you.

Technically you can, just need a camper willing to move in

Also to figure out whether a thought bubble is for moving out without talking to the villager, quickly enter and exit a building. If the bubble remains, it's a move-out request. If it disappears, it was another prompt.

One thing I learned is that the thought bubbles don’t always mean a villager wants to move out, sometimes it means the villager wants you to mail something for them, or some other thing like that.

I’m trying to kick out pashmina, earlier she had a thought bubble and I got excited but it turns out she just wanted to visit my house. I was disappointed lol, now I’ve been at this for about 2 hours and she still hasn’t got another bubble yet :(

if you see a villager with a thought bubble and you want the bubble to go to a different villager, quickly leave the game before it auto saves (don't save!), then rejoin and it will be on a different villager!

it took me 2 years to realize that: when you get a villager with a thought bubble and time travel to the next day, it disappears! when you time travel back to the day before, the thought bubble gets transferred to another villager.

15 day cooldown until someone else can ask to move out. Plots most often autofill once they have been empty for one day

Tell the villager NO = 15-cooldown for the same villager whom asked to move out, but 5-day cooldown before any other villager in slots 1-9 can ask to move out Tell the villager YES = 15-day cooldown before any other villager can ask to move out. However, that empty plot can autofill if you don’t invite a new villager within that timeframe but as quickly as the next day if your island lacks any of the eight personalities.

All I do is walk in their house, don't talk to them and walk out, then the next day they will want to move out

​​@@chrystleeckert5206 it doesn't. what does work is asking tom nook to move the house of a villager you DON'T want to move out. they cannot ask to leave while you have their plot in your inventory, so it will increase the chance of any other villager wanting to move out

I swear I never talk to the villagers I want to leave but the ones who ask are the ones I talk to all the time 😭

Unless it is the last villager that moved into your island. They won't ask to leave. Found that out when wanting to get rid of that one.

I fence their house in to make it easier to check on them, and then check for the bubble every day

treat them like you love them it works or ignore them

Me: Putting up signs with “GET OUT POOP” on it and forcing them to sing with a radio

Whenever I see someone I don’t want to leave my island with a thought bubble I just hit them with my net, seems to work

I've been trying to move out Rocket for almost a week now and she's ALWAYS INDOORS. It's beginning to piss me off because they've cycled between my favourite villagers each time.

I usually make pitfall traps to make them fall and hit them with nets- just like an ordinary acnh player 😭✨

What I do (time traveling)- Travel one month forward, around 1pm, look for a villager with the thought bubble. If it is the villager you want kicked: talk, agree for them to move, save and exit the game once you're done playing. If it isn't the villager you want kicked: close the game, time travel one day forward, look again, and repeat until it is the villager you want to move.** If you don't see any villagers with the bubble: do the same as above. (**)

basically if you have the amiibo cards for certain villager you can scan them in the campsite (you need to invite them 3 times for them to move in) once they ask to move in on your island you can select a villager you want to get rid of

If you really don't want to miss that interaction, talk to the villager, and if the bubble is about moving, close the game via home menu before answering anything about moving out. The game will revert back to the last autosave (few minutes ago) and will forget you talked to the villager who wants to move out. No cooldown and peace of mind for you

Befriend them. They will leave so quick, that you will start missing them after they left. 😢

I do enjoy how they won’t just move out without giving permission like in new leaf

AND if a villager is sick, no villager will have this bubble thing

I think it’s just good to ignore them. Never talk to them. If you enter their house on accident, leave without talking to them and they’ll be confused.

I’m on my second ANCH island. I’m new to the series, this is the first installment I’ve ever played. I let all and Any villagers move in. I waited until after I built my island the way I wanted and had all the house locations settled. Then after that I started to kick out villagers and move in the ones I wanted. My logic was that way, when I got all the villagers I wanted on my island. I could just play with them and fish,swim,collect bugs all day because I didn’t have to design anything on my island anymore besides the one or two seasonal sections I had! I got my switch stolen and now I have a newer one. Planning on doing the same thing!

Im kinda doing this!! I restarted bc the switch and the game are basically my sisters but im the one who got invested on it so now im the owner of this island. I got the house plots settled and now im trying to get the villagers i want, i'm broke too so decorating is going very slow [cry] but i'm waaaay happier now cz i can do whatever i want on the island without needing to use my sister account ^^

Hit them with a net until they get depressed. They normally get angry at you at first, but if you hit them a LOT they get depressed

I haven’t had a villager ask to move out in months lol and of course when one did it was one of my favorites 😭😭

I always spam report them to Isabelle It works sometimes 😀

My most effective way of kicking out a villager requires amiibo card thought. Just invite a villager you want at the campsite and you can get them to move on your island even if it's already full. They will tell you the name of a villager who wants to move out. If they say the name of a villager you want to keep, just invite them again another day.

The villagers that I want to leave never gets a thought bubble.

Imagine if there were eviction notices, and by giving one to a villager, they'd have no choice but to leave.

my method has always been: step 1 - talk to every villager except the one you want to leave step 2 - time travel 30 days step 3 - talk to them and rejoice in their absence a few days later

I’ve had Tybalt for over a year now, but now it’s time to say “ta-ta” to him to make room for Vivian. And yes, I am time-traveling and waiting until he’s the one with the thought bubble and asks to move out, and that I can probably give him to any other player around the world (if they don’t have his Amiibo card or don’t want to keep wasting NMTs until he pops up on a Mystery Island via villager-farming). If you TT backwards, that will encourage him/her to ask to move out on a sooner date than the original date his/her 15-day cooldown can wear off.

I just ask the villager that their house is being renovated and that they have to move out for a couple of days (forever). Quickest way to get a villager out

Be careful about not talking to them though... In early versions, it wouldn't work

The easiest way for me is to completely neglect them and talk to all the other villagers, and some times walk in there house and walk out immediately

My go to is to time travel forward a whole year and then every day until the villager i want to leave has a thought bubble

I accidentally hit one of my starter villagers with a net today while they had the thought bubble and it just dissapeared.

I usually jump forward 15 days until the villager I want to leave, decides to leave

another thing! the last villager to move in cannot move out until another villager moves in. so for example if your tenth villager moves in, they cannot leave until one of your previous villagers does and another moves in in their place

a... amiibo cards...

It's complicated because the thought bubble can also mean a visit to their house to hang out or a question about your nickname. It's not always the villager wanting to move.

i figured out that by placing fences around their door they can’t move, they’re stuck. so if you do that then they eventually get bored and leave. also wacking them with a net helps bring down your friendship score with them.

eunice was my first favorite villager! she was just so sweet and has a really cozy design. and it was my first island in acnh, ofc, so that definitely made her stick in my memory so much more. also, honorable mention. antonio! he’s a soft grey anteater with a super fluffy tail. i just. love him. i was kinda upset when my island started autofilling up with anteaters at first, but then decided to just roll with it and get as many decent anteaters as i could. i found antonio and he’s been one of my absolute favorites ever since :))

Every time I see a villager with a thought bubble, they always give me stuff and never say they want to leave 😂😂😂

I dont know other ways of getting specific villigers to leave but if you have one at the campsite you really want to keep you can talk to them and play their games until they ask to trade places with a random villager.

One time a few weeks ago, cherry actually wanted to move. Her being my #1 dreamie that I finally acquired, the answer was a resounding HECK NO-

I dont talk to them and hit them with a net repeatedly then time travel until the day they have the bubble which is usually pretty fast since their friendship points are lower

this is funny in an ironic way because a week ago I tattled on Lionel to Isabelle and withing a day and a half he asked if he should leave and I told him yes!

I'd say if you have the Amiibo cards you can use them to decide who moves out and who moves into your town (of course you need to invite them 3 times and make whatever they want before you can do that) that's what I do

I just start to be super talkative to all my villages except the one I want to leave. It worked for Diedre, the little jerk, so I'm happy :)

Maybe if you don't want your villagers to leave, when they have the bubble, you hit them with the net and they forget what they were thinking, but they don't bother :)

And because of that funny enough, I got Lucky, Coco, Octavian and Raymond all on my island within 30 days

finally a straight forward answer, every other method ive seen doesnt seem to be founded by any data logic

You could also hit them with a net “accidentally” and then they’ll stop thinking.

Amiibo villager cards also allow you to chose who moves out to make room for the new villager.
