Yeah, Japan in particular is very sensitive about possible scenes that could trigger epilepsy ever since the porygon episode of the original season of pokemon came out. Many children had seizures across the country which caused the episode to be banned, so now as a precaution, many animated shows edit those scenes. It might actually be a law there, but I’m not entirely sure.

I caught my little sister (8 years old) watching Glitch Techs today. Specifically the first episode where they're all participating in a VR tournament. As a VR enthusiast (seriously, get a VR headset, they're incredible!), I was intrigued and sat down to watch the episode with her. I was pleased with how VR was portrayed in a positive light, and how Miko was able to participate from home (showing how VR can bring people together virtually). As for the actual plot of the show, it was also quite enjoyable. Part of me was hoping the whole show centered around VR, but oh well. I was also surprised just how much I enjoyed it, too, especially since I can't stand 90% of the other stuff she watches. (To the guy who created Word Party, fuck you.) I appreciated how the show would occasionally throw in an adult joke for the older audiences (like when Miko was about to get eaten by the glitch cat and asked for her browser history to be deleted). Overall, it's a very enjoyable show and one I might actually watch on my own. Or at least sit down with my sister when she watches it.

All I am going to say is this: 1, The show is created for little kids, (at-least younger then four.)j and why you are watching baby shows I don’t know why. 2, There is no reason to swear at a baby show at it, that is just rude. 3, You completely bought it up for no reason whatsoever, so don’t say anything if it doesn’t has any point in your story. So in a nutshell: don’t swear at kids shows that are personally made for little kids.

What I LOVED about Kipo is that everyone tells her how everything wants to kill her and is evil on the surface, but she basically befriends almost everyone she meets and that's precious and wholesome! Also the humor is epic, I loved all the characters and it's so fun and colorful! Also the villain is actually scary even tho he is so weirdly ridiculous, it's hard to explain lol And while Kipo herself is naive as hecc she is also extremely lovable. And don't get me started about freaking Dave omg

You know it'd actually be nice if Netflix had an account setting for whether or not you have epilepsy. That or a pop-up screen before a movie or show that warns you the content has scenes that could trigger an epileptic seizure and allows you to choose a dimmer version if needed.

Kipo was definitely a very intriguing cartoon, with some fun music and surprising character development. Also loved the way they "utilized" the Megabunny fur in hilarious situations. Looking forward to a season 2

Yeah... I've been studying plot for quite a few years now so I feel like I can accurately judge a story based on that... but then I realize I'm hopeless at picking apart music, animation, acting, cinematography, etc. The best I can say is "the story was good." ...we should really give professional critics a break. Modern media has so much packed into it, and we expect them to just unpack it lickedy-split. Oh man, and the game reviewers have to actively overcome a game's challenges on TOP of dissecting its artistic merit! Jeez!

Honestly, I can't really trust a clinical review like that, I have to find a reviewer who has similar taste and sensibilities to mine otherwise it's meaningless. I remember when Time magazine came out with a top 10 worst songs of 2016 and featured at number ten "7 Years" by Lukas Graham, one of the few songs that never fails to make me cry and gave it a one sentence review that still baffles me to this day: "Good luck explaining the meteoric popularity of this (yes, catchy) chewy contemporary pop-rock ballad, which makes a listener yearn for the artistic integrity of a band like Maroon 5." Am I crazy or did that person just say "I don't understand why it's so popular, I prefer Marron 5." put in a way to make themselves seem smart?

Glitch Tech's was like 4 years in the making, some of the people Im working with right now were people who worked on Glitch Tech's and unfortunately the show did get cancelled. I'm hoping that maybe if it picks up in popularity through Netflix maybe there could be a revival.

What we have right now is just half of season 1. I don't know when part two of season one will appear. @live love from what I overheard the show was only able to get season 1 done so its only a matter of time when we will get the 2nd half. But if it manages to do well on Netflix heres hoping it'll be revived. The story about Glitch Tech's production is a bit messy and I'm not familiar with all the details. I just know bits and pieces.

神影Kamikage It actually has a lot of the people that worked on past iterations on its writing staff. There’s also a lot of references to previous iterations as well and they seem to really know what they’re doing with the character’s development. Heck one of the original creators said that they really like rise too. Rise is just different that’s all.

I love how the creators of Fanboy and Chum-Chum didn't put gross-out humor in every single episode and the plot wasn't just absolute garbage in Glitch Techs. The show's storyline is AMAZING and I just cannot stop thinking about how this may have been received if it was also on Cable. Going back to the gross-out humor, they had an episode where Five and Miko were taking the tutorial and they found a fighting game all about gross-out humor, but it was really dialed back and I didn't feel like hurling the whole episode. I rate it an 11/10.

I'm glad that he learned from his mistakes with silliness and started something serious and cool, even if his bosses at Nickelodeon didn't acknowledge the success of the show glitch techs (same with dozens of shows that they didn't acknowledge) and wanted to cancel it. Kinda wish he would have talked about how DJ benson openly had a coming out scene where he said “I’m gay” and it was looked upon in a positive light coz that just made my love for the show triple like, I get the ‘no spoilers’ thing but if ya didn’t want spoilers just watch the show before watching a review of it lol that’s fine tho, just haven’t seen ANYBODY talk about this which is weird since it feels like a preeeettyy big deal to me idk

I actually ended up laughing at that line cause he’s so direct and Kipo is just confused, and it was probably just relief that it wasn’t going to have a teenage romance starting right away. Then the plot kicks in and it’s never brought up til the end, which makes sense story wise and Benson (?) doesn’t act any different. Character first, and not letting something like that be his whole character. Kinda like Shiro in Voltron where we find out about his bf, but it doesn’t really change how others act towards him or change his character into a stereotype.

Glith techs was the best! The leads have amazing chemistry, Miko is precious and it's sooooooo amazing!!!!!!!

In regard to Kipo I actually loved the expectation subversion at the end. Went from a real bitch of a uncertain cliffhanger to badass and hopeful. Also yes the soundtrack is incredible. Honestly Kipo is probably my favorite animation of 2020 and is unlikely to change. Season 2 of Slime might take the top spot but as of now Kipo is top Mega Dog.

I really find Glitch Tech really interesting. So I never the creator behind _Fanboy and Chum Chum_ made this show. I guess Eric Robles really improving his potential now.

I guess Eric Robles is like a human version of Sony Animation. Made something so terrible that people assume they are hacks (Emoji movie and Fanboy and Chum Chum) only to recently genuinely great content (Into the Spiderverse and Glitch Tech).

When I say the intro for “adventure time” i thought it was a post apocalyptic because you are able to see stuff that would fit within a normal fantasy world. And “Glitch Techs” female character looks like stocking from “panty and stalking with garderbelt”

@zain mudassir surprisingly enough she does. Although I have to admit I rather like tt go as well. It's a very self aware show that knows it has its haters. And pokes fun at them. The tt vs tt go movie was a good example of the mocking of the "you ruined our childhood" mentality of some nerds

It’s the color scheme. The show is incredibly colorful and the designs have a sort of early 2000s feel to it. It’s why I love the series.

I just recently bumped into Glitch Techs not knowing what cartoon to watch after binging Arcadia, and I was suddenly hooked by the first episode. I swear, if Western and Eastern animation had a kid it would be Glitch Techs. My weeb heart's standards for a fun action-adventure were all ticked twice over. It's just that good, I can't believe how the devs made it work.

Oh I was SO obsessed with that show!!!! Its storyline, humor and characters were all amazing and it was deffinitely my favourite version of scooby doo, although what's new scooby doo had the best theme song for me :3

Mystery Incorporated was by far the best time for the franchise. Some of the best animation, best monster designs, and best humor they’ve ever had. I loved how they often made references back to the older versions of the show. But not too much as to make it overbearing or unfunny.

I legit cried at the end of Kipo. The show overall is a much watch.

Kipo is probably my favorite series in a long time! I love the stories, lore, and variety the show has! I hope it gets a sequel!

The art style is like invader zim meets the last air bender , it has a pointy jagged look (which is kinda cool)

I really liked glitch techs, which was a pleasant surprise! The art style and concept (along with the likable characters) really snagged my attention. I hope it picks up in popularity and netflix decides to fund another season... Its a shame it was canceled

I believe that Kipo could be a really good studio Gihbli movie

I watched both, and I love how Netflix's continues to push for 2D animation

The Music in Kipo was too frigging Amazing and the animation of Glitch Techs was on some Kill La Kill action at times. Both great series imho

@Jaylin Broan You said "Lump Kingdom," about Adventure Time. It's a whole other dimension, since Lumpy Space Princess had to take Finn and Jake through a portal to get there. It's more like outer space/a separate dimension rather than a kingdom on Earth, like the Candy Kingdom, the Ice Kingdom, the Slime Kingdom, etc.

My feeling with Kipo's final episode, without spoiling anything, felt like it ended on a note that didn't warrant it requiring a whole other season. It was too fast, too abrupt, I thought another episode was about to start after that, like it'd take one, maybe two more episodes to conclude this arc. But nope. I liked the show a lot, but just that ending felt a bit too rushed. Like you said, it got to a point the season had been building towards, and once it was reached it immediately got taken away again to artificially stretch out the same arc to a second season.

Thats how DreamWorks works. They order tons of seasons. She-Ra would never be cancelled as they are due for 4 seasons. (Season 2-3 are all one seasonal arc). Kipo was probably bought for multiple seasons. Netflix is just waiting for the right time to announce it. ORRRRRRR maybe I'm just dumb and it gets cancelled after one season. Also Glitch Techs is amazing pls watch it.

FWIW, Kipo is based off a webcomic by the same name. The old site seems to have been taken down (maybe because of the show coming out?) but you can still find the strips archived a few places with a quick search.

Kipo looks like an alternate dimension Amethyst and Miko looks like non MLP Twilight Sparkle

aruce9 I really hope they don’t pull the new cartoon cliche where you get a fun story with fun characters and then out of nowhere become over dramatic as hell by the 2nd-3rd season like star vs and a bunch of shipping cause it seems like a lot of cartoons pulls this stupid cliche I mean you can have drama moments but please don’t put stupid cliffhanger at the end of the 2nd season and get unnecessarily dark for no reason either be a lighthearted show or be dark don’t pull anything.

I was thinking the same thing earlier as well! Hyper, adventurous, and super fun girl partnered up with an anxious, Spanish-speaking, and smart boy taking down things in their world. I ship them slightly, but I honestly just want them to stay as friends, because we've already had enough of romances.

Yeah... But to be fair, Glitch Techs has at this point a rather small cast of characters. But I think things like Mikally or Alliko are already a thing in the heads of some weirdos. Then we had the (hopefully better handled) Starco ship of the show: Miko and High Five (Mive/Fiko?). At this point I think ships have no place to be in the show because it hasn't enough romantic bonds to ship certain characters. Even Miko and Five are more like best friends than a love couple. But a romance between the two could be possible if the series continues (but hopefully not like Star with Season 3 and especially garbage-season 4).

That's my favorite thing about the show. No intrusive shipping. Especially between Miko and Five. They remind me of Season 1 Star and Marco, where they were just best friends. I hope they keep them best friends or naturally develop their relationship.

I actually liked these mini reviews, Saber! Please keep doing them, they were lovely. Might I recommend Hilda for your next set?

I love the 8 bit music you get in ending credits it feels like something you would hear in an arcade there really are a lot of fluid movements in the sceens

I've been waiting for you to talk about Kipo. The fact they got a Wu Tang Clan Member on the rap is amazing.

I listen to the Kipo theme on loop to do my homework because it lifts my spirits SO. MUCH!!! It legit helped me keep my motivation and sanity at the end of last semester when I was studying for finals.

Kipo's designs really remind me of Teen Titans.

Its worth pointing out that while Kipo WAS based on a comic, the creator of that comic worked for Dreamworks. He initially was going to leave Dreamworks during the production of Boss Baby to work on his personal webcomic project but they asked him if he wanted to stay on at just 2 days a week instead and he agreed - then when Dreamworks execs found the comic and realized one of their employees was making it they approached him about adapting it into a show! I believe you actually can't find the original comic anymore, the show has sorta taken over as the actual version of the story, so in a way it is still an original Dreamworks production.

I LOVED Kipo! So glad to see this vid! (Agreed on the very end, though, lol.) Just heard of Glitch Techs today, so would love to check that out! You should try Netflix's 'Hilda,' too! Think you'd really like it!

Glitch techs was one of the biggest surprises for me, it just goes to show that people can improve from their previous works.

*Spoiler* When kipo confessed her love to the boy and he said he was gay made me feel bad for her but also laugh quite a bit.
