The more I learn about the head tracker the more excited I get!

So glad to see you are making the external Head Tracking units as all the other MFG's have quit making them. Best of all you are right here in the USA. I just added your link to several DIY HT video's (Fearless 360) (Andy RC)(RC Groups) so others like myself, can order your great product. I was lucky to find a Fatshark External at a good price, but if I need any in the future, I will diff pick one up from you. I am currently working on a Traxxas Summit project utilizing HT with the DJI air unit. Located in Virginia, so nice to see you are right next door in NC. Keep up the good work!

@@DevonSpittleREAL It exactly what Gab707 is using (he's been flying with my gimbals) he has two setups hes using out there, a Siccario dual axis gimbal rig he designed and used last year, and my gimbal/head tracker setup.

@@medlindrone That's insane. And you're the first person I asked 😂. I plan on filming a lot of watersports (flyboarding, etc) and I've always had an issue with tracking when subjects slow down. Right now I'm flying a 5inch Deep6v2. Do you think your gimbal could work with that? Or would I need a different frame?

@@DevonSpittleREAL You cam to the right place :) its great for adjusting speed and getting unique angles for chasing (check out my latest vid chasing drift cars). I would like to know how you added the slider. I got a terraplane too with your full kit and am about to do my first test flight tomorrow with the head tracker. So far all I have is the switch set up but would like to have the slider method too

Add the slider via the Mixes tab in OpenTX, long press on the mix for the servo channel, select “insert after”, then set that input as a slider of you transmitter. Then for both the existing and new mix, set a “switch” to activate one and the other. You can also use a three position switch to have an additional mix that has a lower “weight” for head tracking to have a sort of “low range of motion” mode

I love this and I wish I could try it. The thing is however I'm a big fan of smaller quads like in the 3" 1s-2s toothpick and smaller size range. Not sure if this has been done, but how feasible do you think it would be to DIY a smaller version of something like this? Say if I wanted to put a smaller version on a lightweight 2s-3s quad that only had to articulate a nano analog camera. Are there servos good enough at the size and weight required? I don't know anything about servos. And if there are servos, would the main issue beyond that be designing structural canopy and frame changes to accommodate everything? I'm guess I'm asking for a lot of info, but any info or ideas would be much appreciated as I find all this really interesting and would love to try it some day.

Thanks for the interest in the project! If smooth movement for a HD cam is not a priority, then absolutely you could use a small servo and get it to work with that, I don't have any current designs available for smaller servos except some of my early designs, here's a link to them medlindrone.com/2021/07/29/early-designs/
