My friend I have watched every freaking video there is on removing the inner CV from a vehicle when it is stuck I tried everybody else’s stupid ass tools that they created along the way that they swore up-and-down would work and none of them I do mean none of them even came close to working let alone removing the inner CV joint then I came across yours... and I said this guy is onto something here I got the chain out the knots the bolts the washers rigged everything up got my trusty sledge 10 pounder with a 4 foot handle one swing in the inner CV joint was out I was so happy I sat there and watched about 3 quarts of transmission fluid just pour out onto the garage floor and I didn’t give a rats ass if 100 more quarts poured out after that thank you very much for your ingenuity for your time for your video for your invention I’ve been out here close to 48 hours throughout the past three days thank you again I was getting to the point where the car was getting very close to taking a long ride offer short pier the only problem with that is it’s a loaner vehicle because mine is in the shop laugh my ass off who fixes loaner vehicles for a dealershipOn their own dime anyway I do

@@stephonwatkins6236 thanks for the input that no one (most definitely me) didn't ask for.. Why , Why, WHY does there always have to be one jackass like you that ALWAYS has something to say about the guy who commented prior to him.. SMH, I bet a little research of previous comments you've left else where would reveal a whole catalog of "behind the keyboard trash talking" you seem like that type.. Get a hobby or something will ya.

after spendings hours trying to pry it. I got it out using this method with a nylon strap and a 3 foot crow bar in about 50 homerun swings. Thank you

If you had to swing 50 times then you aren't hitting any homeruns.

That is almost exactly the way I do it. Only difference is that I wrap the free end of the chain around my HF jack and swing it outwards. Immediately jerking the Drive shaft out of the tranny.

This is an awesome idea......and even if you don't have any chain or crowbar you can get them fast and cheap from DIY store. CV removal is all about the horizontal pull....Scotty Kilmers suggestion of buying a slide hammer that attaches to a vice grip also works if you've had no choice but to split the driveshaft and the end part is still stuck in gearbox.... use the vice grip to hold onto the axle, and the slide hammer will smash it out.

I was thinking that using a thick, unbreakable nylon rope to wrap around the CV axle joint near the transmission would be a better choice since it is very flexible. Then at the other end of the rope, make a big loop and a big knot so that we can grasp this end with both hands and give a big and sudden yank on the rope to pull the axle out. Of course this is all theory but it does make sense.

So this should have wayyyyy more views, I tried everything and even the Toyota recommended slide hammer didn't work. I am doing a clutch and I already had engine hoist on the car I grabbed one of the chains and it didn't work because had to much slack in the chain. I regrouped and found a thicker bolt and had it tight on the the lip of the axle. I used 10 pound slide hammer and it would not budge.... I finally grabbed my 25 pound kettle bell and it popped right off with ease. I had been trying to get driver axle out for a couple of days. Wrap a chain around it and yank like hell.

I've used a wire coat hammer and a slide hammer. I'm about to test the method again on my Honda soon cuz it's not coming out

I clamp the chain to both sides of the axle then tied a rope to the chain so I can hold it and use something heavy like a hammer or breaker bar to yanked it out and it came out in 2 minutes.

I'm stuck at this point now. Ive tried everything. I even welded a chain on to either side and used a come along to the point the vehicle started to pull over so I had to release. Any other ideas?

Marc Estrada You won't need a hammer or anything else if you use a homemade snatcher like I use. I tried cains around my axle on my car with a piece of 2×6 about 1 1/2 ft long with a piece of chain 6ft long, both ends of the chain wrapped around the axle with a bolt and nut on each and the board directly in the middle of the chain, I took a small sledge hammer and hit that piece of board about 50 times, it didn't work. I was so pissed that I snatched on the board with my hands about 2-3 times and it popped right out. So just get about 6-7 ft of large dog chain for around $3-4 at lowes and 2 bolts to go through each end of the chain wrapped around the axle, making sure it's not going to come off if snatched good. Once bolted on, pull the chain all the way out and place that board vertical against the chain and twist the chain around the board. Pull the chain tight then allow about 1ft of play, snatch it a time or 2 real good and it will come out. That's the best puller on the market and cheapest.

I have a 2002 Chevy trail blazer and I need to replace the cv axel /the housing .but I’m having trouble getting the housing out . I got a whole new one and I’m trying not to have to take the shipping bolts and what not off since it’s all greased up and ready to go. I have tried wedging something behind it and tapping it but it just barely wiggles . If anyone can point me in the right direction to some sort of reference that’d help remove it’d be much appreciated .

Tried with a chain tied to a sledge hammer, proper heavy. Does not budge. Tried it also with a different cable, pry bars, chizzle from the other side. It's not rusted as it moves ever so slightly so definitely the c clip. Anyone any advice?

How about a Come Along Puller and wrap cable behind cup and ratchet it out. I also saw two tools made by OEMTOOLS 27058 attaches to slide hammer looks like horse shoe goes behind cup. There's another one looks like giant pickle fork.OEMTOOLS 27305.
