Hey Jamie if the 3 track masters are missing from this session how did they get the cassette copies of the binaural masters from the "Celluloid Rock Vol 2" CD set? The binaural mixes would have to have come from 3 track master tapes to begin with right? These cassettes from Celluloid could not have been copies of the "LP master" tape if that's all that has survived because it was mixed to "stereo/mono" for the LP release "Double Trouble LPM-3787" (which was taken from the 3 track master in June '67). So where then did the binaural mixes on the Celluloid Rock set derive from?

Oh, sorry! By 3-track tapes, I meant the full session tapes. The parts of the 3-track tape containing masters and alternate masters (and only a few alternates) is what's still available. So parts of the tapes still exist, but most of it is gone. Whether that means there could be copies in a vault somewhere is unknown, but not likely, sadly.

Great FTD release. Excluding the bonus songs, my favorites from this soundtrack would be “Long Legged Girl With The Short Dress On” and “ City By Night”⚡️

Hi Jamie and John, Levi here. I always thought Double Trouble title meaning was about Guy Lambert dealing with Jill's Uncle trying to kill her for her inheritance and the diamond smugglers.

Yes. You're correct, all the trouble these folks give Elvis on his adventures.

'Antwerp Here We Come' was a demo Elvis liked and wanted to record for the film the melody was so close to Old MacDonald he decided to record that instead he got Randy Star the writer of Antwerp Here We Come to change the lyrics. I don't know where the idea of him being made to record it came from but I guess it fits the idea of him being a puppet the real Elvis who would never lower himself to sing such a song. To me it's no worse than Tweedlee Dee. 😂

Hi Jamie and John, I just want to ask you whether you mean the statement "fly on the wall" in the context of a session, that some songs or takes are not used for an album. I think I have read or heard this saying before in connection with Elvis. Thank you, it's important for me ! Greetings from Germany !

The “Double Features” cd , I think, sounds better than the FTD release and it sounds a whole lot better on the RCA album collection, but that’s not really saying much, considering the majority of the material featured on this album. The movie is absolutely dreadful. 😊

Why dont you review the book Destined to Die Young by Sally Hoedel. It is greatly researched and indepth about his family medical history and hereditary illnesses. It explains alot of why his mother, her 3 brothers and Elvis died young. Just read it yourself and judge. Im so sick of people making fun he s fat ( he really wasnt, he was puffy from meds) and he only a drug addict. Yes, he overused prescription drugs, but he really needed them. The book explains alot
