I'm in complete and utter shock. How could anyone do this? This is just beyond comprehension. I didn't know it was possible to make a tutorial this good.
Thank you for that.. A request/recommendation would be to instead of gloss over the different mesh bakers, explain what each one does and why you would use it or need it etc etc.
Dude, THANK YOU.
thanks bro! i love your voice
OMG THANKS YOU SOOOO MUCH!
So we don't need to separate each mesh for bake?
Thanks for this guide. I'm returning to 3D modelling after about 6 years after graduation in Game Design and Art. My question is that this looks so easy compared to what we did to bake out maps in Max. I cant remember the name but it did involve cages and the process was super finicky. Is that now a thing of the past and this would be perfectly fine for industry standard or is this like a quick and clean version with a cage method being preferred? Would appreciate a response and thanks again!

It's acceptable standard

do you mean 3ds max? baking in that software is a nightmare compared to other softwares.
Hello, I am painting .obj for Virtual Tabletops in Substance painter, but I can't get the mesh and the texture to link when exporting. Is there a way to get them both baked together so I don't have to export to blender to bake?
hello why is my curvature empty????
OPenGL also for DAZ3D?
that option is not showing up
Thanks guys. I have been using substance for 2 years and didn't know the bake option... Feel so dumb haha

Just drag and drop your baked texture maps into substance painter and set them as textures.
sorry they move it to the bottom of the screen. I have it on steam it is a little different.
Second comment 😀
why no body explain what is baking and why we should bake...

you bake so that you can take details from a high poly model onto the lowpoly game ready version

in a case where your lowpoly is also your high poly, you bake in order to get the maps so they could guide the tools like generators to properly add the details. Generators wont work correctly if there is no curvature or ao information.

@@furkancankaya2233 Once you get the hang of programming and you know 3D modelling/texturing/animation, then you're practically a wizard. Being able to create 3D environments and program mechanics to interact with said 3D environments, all by yourself. It's amazing, good luck!

they have an “introduction to texture baking” video on this channel and also they have a whole tutorial series on it in their marketplace but i agree it’s something that’s not discussed much in general on 3d channels. it’s strange because it seems like such an essential part of the 3d process but as a noob like me it seems like people just skip over it.
I see my texture weird.
