Quick Guide to PSP Chargers

Ойындар

Summarized Information
I personally recommend the PSP-380, it's an OEM charger that's very good. Another OEM charger is PSP-100. It's fine but I still prefer the 380.
The OEM PSP Go Charge cable is PSP-N100.
Currently, I don't have any info on the Street/e1000.
If you're looking at third-party chargers, there are one's made by a company called Jet. They actually made the OEM chargers for Sony, but also make their own Jet Branded ones. These Chargers have the same compatibility as the PSP-100 and PSP-380.

You can also get larger battery covers for the 2000 and 3000. Sony sold “gold batteries” for them that were just the original size batteries, with gold print on them, with different color battery covers.

Jet is actually the company that makes the OEM AC adapters. Look for the logo on many adapters. The most important thing is the mA rating. 2000 mA is 2A. This is the speed at which the charger charges the battery. Too low, and it won't charge. Too high, and you risk overheating or overcharging the battery.

@@PSPMan I forget why you say it is not so good in The video? There is a chance it is made for the PS move charging base. Or another Sony product that all use a similar adapter. I have a small portable speaker that is Sony branded and has the same barrel plug charger.

Charge cable fits in the psp if you don’t try having the cord come off towards the center. Turn the head around, so the cord is coming off the side. That’s the only reason you’re having an issue with them being crooked.

I mean to be fair, that's not really convenient or comfortable to play. I don't understand why their official OEM products are made this way. I understand it is manageable, but I wouldn't want to pay for something with such an obvious flaw in the design.

Hi PSPMan, I have a question about the Charging Plug for PSP. I'm having trouble deciding between PSP-100 and PSP-380 Charging plugs. I agree with you that you prefer the PSP-380 over PSP-100, but at one of the boards at Gamefaq on the other hand, I found the part that says: "(note: PSP 100 has a higher mA output than the PSP 380, 2000 mA vs 1500 mA)." That's the real reason why I'm having trouble deciding between PSP-100 and PSP-380 Charing Plugs. Can you help me out which charging plug to go for between PSP-100 and PSP-380? I'm stuck and I don't know what to choose and what to agree on. Also, I'm planning to get a new charging plug to replace my old one. Please Comment Me Soon. See You Later.

@@Level1Sword Probably due to consumers not understanding the terms in the first place. A bigger number sells more products. I would bet that a brand that advertises a 5000 mAh battery would sell more than one that is 6 Ah. It comes down to an uneducated public. Same reason items are $19.99 and not $20.

@@PSPMan I have a PSP charger cable that is USB on one side and has a USB mini and a PSP barrel port on it. I have to be careful I don't use a more powerful power block to charge it. Modern phone charger blocks are usually 2.1A or higher which would potentially overload the PSP if there aren't protections built into the black you're using. This cable is made to use with PSP but was third party. It works fine with the right block.

@@HunterAtheist Yeah, cables like that are intended for PC front panel or rear I/O USB 2.0 ports which default to 5V 500mA for 2.5W as the standard going back to USB 1.0, but USB 3.x and newer ports can negotiate with a device to provide higher amps to allow for heavier draw items like smartphones and tablets to charge faster whilst also having the normal data bandwidth.
