    @@rays-777 thanks a lot for that! I wasnt sure about the transmission but that helped. Btw if you increase line pressure the transmission will slam into gear(shift into the next gear quicker) causing less slipping. Less time and slip=less heat and wear. Heat is the enemy at all times in an automatic transmission.

    @@Daniel-bh4px Same here all I have is that drop in filter and just that alone made a noticeable difference. I'm back to using the tuner. DiabloSport or ZZP can't go wrong. Just remember after the tune if you do any mods you should get an updated tune for that mod to get the most out of it. Without a catch can you're degrading the air/fuel mixture, filling your intercooler with oil, and creating spark knock which will hold back on acceleration to protect the engine from damage. U can also use octane booster.

    In short, sport mode is ok for street driving but when I drive hard I want to take control of the gear shifting. In other Cadillac models, sport mode is more noticeable such as the XT4 2.0T; big difference but this ATS naw.

  • @silfocus84

    @silfocus84

    4 жыл бұрын

    Sport Mode is about powerband and shifting quickness, so it is faster than touring. When you tune the vehicle, canned or custom, usually the modes will be significantly different and the pressure in the lines goes up for much better timed shifts and firmer shifts... this is where manual made can become useless... however, you can also tune the pressure and response for each manual shift. Factory, yeah I guess Manual would be the way to go as far as modes go if you are racing. Sport would be great for road coursing if you want all your attention on steering since it will hold the gears in the powerband better. And touring is a great way to just save gas. Although every tune video I watch I see 22 to 24mpg. I'm guessing you guys just drive balls out all the time lol cause I get close to 30 unless i'm banging on it.. then more like 25 to 26.

    @@silfocus84 I wonder what year ATS U have cuz I also hear SM stiffens up the steering wheel on newer models. Not the case for me. In normal driving, it indeed improves the gear ratios i can notice that. BUT... on the freeway when i gun it for that passing power, it downshifts it stays in that gear longer than I want it to and the power comes in only on the next gear. This is why I do manual on pulls most of the time. For me SM is great for street driving.

    @@bealltho1 U don't need a tune to have or use sport mode. A tune is more about Air Fuel Ratio (AFR), sport mode is more about gear ratios. U can go manual on sport mode to control the gear ratios yourself.

    It depends on which submodel it is... and perhaps what it's being used for. There are a few 9 second ATS's... but that's nuts. But yeah if you put the same motors in an ATS and a CTS, the ATS will be faster because it's much lighter and weight distribution is not far from 50/50... so it probably handles better. The CTS V is a monster. The ATS V is a smaller monster... and I'm sure you can tune either of them to be even more so. So don't get your panties in a wad if someone says an ATS is faster than a CTS... chances are he or she is talking about a specific set of submodels...
