Description:
Welcome to this 5-minute guided Buteyko Breathe Light exercise, perfectly tailored for those with busy schedules. This quick yet effective session is designed to reset your breathing patterns, promoting a sense of calm and improved well-being throughout your day.
What to Expect:
Gentle Start: We begin by gently closing the mouth and bringing a smile to the face, easing into the practice.
Focus on Sensations: Pay close attention to the air flowing through your nose, noticing its temperature and gentle movement.
Natural Breathing: Allow your body to breathe naturally without any forced control.
Relaxation Techniques: Gradually relax different parts of your body, starting from the jaw to the belly and legs.
Mild Air Hunger: If you're already experiencing a slight air shortage, perfect. If not, we'll guide you to softly reduce your breath intake.
Body Feedback: Pay attention to the calming effects, increased saliva production, warmth, and mental clarity as signs of effective practice.
Benefits:
Nervous System Regulation: Helps downregulate your nervous system, shifting into 'rest and digest' mode.
Enhanced Oxygen Delivery: Improves blood flow and oxygen delivery to the brain and body.
Long-term Respiratory Health: Regular practice can lead to lasting changes in breathing patterns, contributing to overall respiratory health and stress reduction.

Wonderful! You can also use small breath holds when walking as an alternative to breathe light: www.thebuteykomethod.com/buteyko-breathing/walking-with-breath-holds

  • @thebuteykomethod

Yes absolutely - you want to feel a mild air hunger, a gentle shortage of air, like you'd like to take a deeper breath, but you don't. Just don't make it so strong that you feel tense or stressed.

Don't worry, your body might not be ready for it yet. Try this instead, most people find it much more accessible to begin with : kzread.info/dash/bejne/jI6qya2zqba1l7g.htmlsi=gfLk_1PQw_zxRmfT

This didn't feel like it did anything for me, maybe because I've studied flute for decades and I'm too comfy with the air hunger feeling? I would stop holding my nose and then forget to breath when it was time to breathe 'nornally.' I'm not sure what that really is for me, because I'm so used to manipulating my breath.

Yes it could well be that your CO2 tolerance is already very high. There are stronger versions, and you can also start to combine with physical exercise. Check out "The Oxygen Advantage" by Patrick McKeown if you are interested 🙏🏻
