    Great tutorial. To those interested, don't use Sharpies. The colors will fade and even change...black becomes almost purple over time, for example.

    Thanks for the tip! I rarely use sharpee coz i’m scared it might actually be too black 😅

    @@Nendoboi No problem. I learned it the hard way...touched up some 3.75 stormtroopers..over time the black touch up turned purple..lol. Just happy I didn't learn this on my 6 inch figures. Look for fine tipped black paint markers..but check type of paint. Some enamel paints won't properly dry on figures.

    I didn't know that. I tried Sharpies, but they ended up too glossy for me.

    Thank you for sharing! I just finished building my Bandai Boba Fett model and I’m getting ideas on how to weather it. I like these markers because it looks like I can do this without even priming the surface.

    Nice the 337 mark hell i hate when my gundam models get like that when i pannel line but for a kit that based off clpthing rsther pannels this technique is perfect :) i do have sevril gundam paints and inks for this and belton chrome ink marker for the very fin scratches and chips i just picked up my boba fett kit today so tonight am gona build and custom detail it :)

    Can you help my please? I have an idea 💡You know marvel legends figures right? There are most of them with suit on. My plan is to make a figure with an white shirt. But do you think a white marker can cover the black hands suit? So that it's look all white? I want a figure without jacket but only shirt. I don't know if you underhand my idea 🤔

    Are these permanent markers? Will the paint wipe off? Do you use oil based or acrylic?

    Subscribed, I'm going to try this method on my new Gaming Great Black Series Flametrooper. He is too white, I wanna put some black on the helmet, and maybe a touch of red on the uniform. Great video mate.

    I find that acrylic paint doesn't stick to plastic and oil or solvent based stay sticky and will actually dissolve plastic.

    I haven’t really tried acrylic paint on my figures, but I heard some are using that type of pain kn certain figures and it’s working for them. Maybe not really on plastic figures.

    Acyrlic just needs some tooth to stick to. Sand the surface you're painting with a high grit sandpaper first & it'll stick just fine

    Yes these are markers made for Gundam kits, for the details and weathering.

    No they don't but you can use it to shade colors and create a worn-out effect by wiping excess paint when you first apply it.

    That ink type is made for paper, so probably won't stick to plastic all that well

    Not at all. The ink actually has a matte finish.

    I would dry brush the armor. Everything else you did is fine.

    Well, you can experiment but I don;t think it will have the same outcome. These markers are specially made for Gundam kits so it's really meant to have these effects. I still suggest researching and using specific markers.
