Great tutorial. To those interested, don't use Sharpies. The colors will fade and even change...black becomes almost purple over time, for example.

Thanks for the tip! I rarely use sharpee coz i’m scared it might actually be too black 😅

@@Nendoboi No problem. I learned it the hard way...touched up some 3.75 stormtroopers..over time the black touch up turned purple..lol. Just happy I didn't learn this on my 6 inch figures. Look for fine tipped black paint markers..but check type of paint. Some enamel paints won't properly dry on figures.

I didn't know that. I tried Sharpies, but they ended up too glossy for me.

@@Nendoboi can you link the markers you used?
Very cool I really enjoyed this, thank you for the tips!
Thank you for sharing! I just finished building my Bandai Boba Fett model and I’m getting ideas on how to weather it. I like these markers because it looks like I can do this without even priming the surface.

Can you help my please? I have an idea 💡You know marvel legends figures right? There are most of them with suit on. My plan is to make a figure with an white shirt. But do you think a white marker can cover the black hands suit? So that it's look all white? I want a figure without jacket but only shirt. I don't know if you underhand my idea 🤔
Are these permanent markers? Will the paint wipe off? Do you use oil based or acrylic?
Hi I just watched this now did you apply anything before you shade using the marker?
Subscribed, I'm going to try this method on my new Gaming Great Black Series Flametrooper. He is too white, I wanna put some black on the helmet, and maybe a touch of red on the uniform. Great video mate.

Thank you so much for watching and for subscribing! I will look forward to your new flame trooper! Best of luck 👍🏼
Do I have to buy these specific colors separately? I looks like it’s hard to find a specific set that contains these.
Nice video dude

Haha a pilipino
What green and brown are those?
can i use postal or stabilo markers?
I find that acrylic paint doesn't stick to plastic and oil or solvent based stay sticky and will actually dissolve plastic.
@Nendoboi

I haven’t really tried acrylic paint on my figures, but I heard some are using that type of pain kn certain figures and it’s working for them. Maybe not really on plastic figures.

Acyrlic just needs some tooth to stick to. Sand the surface you're painting with a high grit sandpaper first & it'll stick just fine
Why those markers? Is it a specific type of marker or that specific marker?
@Nendoboi
3 жыл бұрын
Yes these are markers made for Gundam kits, for the details and weathering.
Do the markers wipe off?
@Nendoboi
3 жыл бұрын
No they don't but you can use it to shade colors and create a worn-out effect by wiping excess paint when you first apply it.
Where to buy those markers?
@Nendoboi

Hobby shops, Gundam hobby shops, Toy stores or online.
Can you try that on ZD toys ironman?
@Nendoboi

As long as it's plastic I think it will work.
What if I were to use regular Crayola markers?
@drakocarrion

That ink type is made for paper, so probably won't stick to plastic all that well
Is the ink sticky?
@Nendoboi
3 жыл бұрын
Not at all. The ink actually has a matte finish.
I would dry brush the armor. Everything else you did is fine.

Can I do this in any markers?
@Nendoboi

Well, you can experiment but I don;t think it will have the same outcome. These markers are specially made for Gundam kits so it's really meant to have these effects. I still suggest researching and using specific markers.
