The reason it was suspected that vampires cant be seen in mirrors is because mirrors used to be made of silver. Silver is considered a "holy metal" for some reason I can't remember, so unholy monsters could not be reflected. Mirrors are no longer made of silver, so that logic doesn't apply anymore, so there are thankfully no vampires floating around in space
