No. This is a "believing men..." permission. Look also at the significant order in which marriage to women was specified: "Marry 2, 3, or 4, and if you cannot be just ... then only 1." Nowhere does it say, " Marry 1 if you fear injustice, but if you can be just you can marry 2, 3 or 4." THIS IS SIGNIFICANT. And Allah SWT knows best.

I am also a muslim woman, but personally i cannot bear my husband sleeping with other woman. Please don't try to convince me into going that. It will be mentally traumatizing for me.

brothers, sisters don't need convincing. brothers need to know their responsibilities and to also not place their desires above the rights of their children and spouses. some brothers engage in haram relationships and then misuse polygyny to escape accountability. and the brothers who go about it secretly don't consider the damage they do to their kids to develop trust because when they find out their father has been lying to them and their mother for years it's almost as bad as a man finding out his child is not his, in terms of the shock of secrecy. Nauthubillah! Brothers be just to your wives and have empathy and honesty is part of good treatment.

Polygyny is not FARD understand that. It is a remedy for certain situations. People keep talking about sunna. The prophet also had one wife until she died That is also a sunna. Polygyny was nit introduced for men and their lustful desires. Men always quote one part of the ayat - marry women of your choice two three or four but they fail to complete it with but if you fear you cannot deal justly with them then one only. Are men only interested in the lust of this world what time do they have for extra ibadah if all that is on their minds is sex? Brothers have kittle or no form if employment but they want more than ine wife. The quran also stated that if you do not have the means to marry then rast. They do not have the means to adequately take care of one and they marry with the sister agreeing to make sacrifices to make the marriage work but then they talk about marrying another. These men need to reevaluation themselves.

MashaAllah whay a beautiful advice, may Allah reward you and elevate you in wisdom ameen. I needed this right now, feeling very depressed that my heart doesn't like what has permitted by Allah(swt). I wouldn't dare to reject what is permissible , but men would call you a disbeliever just for not liking it for yourself. I don't want this fitnah for my family, i don't want to be financially lesser off, i don't want to work doubly hard to bring up my children on my own. I already have enough problem on my plate, i don't want anymore just so that my husband can please himself.

impressive answer, if you don't qualify, then no need to think about it. MAYBE, if the 1st wife can't get pregnant, then there is a legitimate reason to get the 2nd wife who can get pregnant.

@@kanizfatima3447 in polygamous societies where there is almost an expectation that rich men will take a second wife, when women are sizing the man up in terms of his money, once he reaches the threshold for polygamy, then women halve their appraisal of his money hecause, after all, he's going to take a second wife and you'll have to share his resources with her. From this Christian looking from outside of Islam, it seems to me that polygamy is intended for times of war or only for the very very rich.

It's not like that men outnumbered women.and what if the scenario is opposite.women are less and men are more then women sholud marry more men to avoid fitna??and also as you said if 50 women will be there for one man then what will happen.one man will marry 50 women ?? You are not Fatima and that isn’t the only reason why the Prophet did that. His daughter as the prophet and the daughter of an enemy of Allah could not be cowives. to protect his reputation as the messenger of Allah. No scholar of Islam said women can reject a co-wife just because Fatima didn’t have one.

Not sure. But I'm just stating the fact that globally/worldwide there have been more men than women on Earth for like the last 60 years. That's what the data shows. Regardless, this reasoning they talk about for polgamy does not come from Quran, these people make up their own justifications for it when really there needs to justification. The Quran (surah 4:3) suggests polygamy to be allowed only if the man could treat the women justly, that's it. It doesn't say to do polygamy because of population statistics or whatever possible societal benefits there may or may not be. It simply says that they *can* do it (under certain conditions), and it doesn't need to explain the *why* part. So I'm not speaking negatively of polygamy, because if something like this has been deemed halal and righteous then certainly there are benefits and blessings that come from it being practiced in the proper way...but what those benefits specifically are we can only assume.

Polygamy is not permissible in Islam, it's Polygyny that is. The former entails that the woman can also have more than one husband, which is purely alien to Islamic ruling. The latter one specifically means the situation where the man ONLY can have more than one wife.

I’m asking respectfully, I know you view Him only as a Prophet but why do Mohammed’s teachings always take precedence over Jesus’? He taught monogamy, no divorce. answered, “Have you not read that from the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’and He said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh? So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate.” “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses order a man to give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?” Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because of your hardness of heart; but it was not this way from the beginning. 9Now I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman, commits adultery.” Therefore, Jesus says marriage is a covenant between ONE man and ONE woman for life and polygamy is the equivalent of adultery.

What i find strange is that practicing muslim brothers have wife that are completely against this aspect of deen that is accepted in kalamullah and shariah. Sadly the brothers who don't deserve to get married 2nd 3rd and even 4th as they re not even practicing and fulfilling the basic fard, wajib, etc That is the sad reality. Also the fitna, fahisha, zina is getting worse. This generation and next generations young women are unfortunately going down the route of - please mind my language, they're happy to be girlfriends, slaves, pimped out, pornographic, b****, w****, lesbian, public property and all these other foul, evil,western, shayateen, feminism, munkar, etc etc Sorry to be blunt, but this is the reality we are in. Every islamic solution is by the creator and is a solution for the ummah and mankind. If we don't choose the islamic way of Allah swt and Rasulullah s. Then we will follow other ways and Allah aza wajjal will destroy us and replace us with this ethat love every aspect of Allah swt hukum, deen, shariah, Islam. Allah swt give us all the towfiq to hold onto every aspect of our deen, be it spiritual, social, financial, political, judicial, etc Allahuma ameen ya rabbal aalaameen

What upsets me about this video is the mirth that accompanies this serious topic. It is "not easy", and "you can easily lose your mind" and "it is a nightmare" are not helpful descriptions of polygamous marriage. They could be applied to monogamous marriages too. It is about educating women... My challenge to the non-polygamy mentality runs thus: Muslim sisters very much love the Wives of Prophet Muhammad pbuh, Umm ul Mumineen (the Mothers of the Believers). They love being named after them, naming their daughters after them, wanting to be like them, pray like them, be devoted to Allah SWT like them, and follow the Qur'an and Sunnah like them ... But look at the same sisters' mentality when marriage a second, third, or fourth time is discussed. So many excuses. So much protestation. So many NEGATIVE opinions on something about which they know NOTHING. Suddenly, a militant, objectional, Western-thinking, "liberated", intolerant opinion emerges. Allah SWT, Lord of the Worlds, Knower of the Seen and the Unseen, enjoined polygamy. Dare we, tiny insignificant specks of "maa'in daafiq" (despised fluid) challenge those permissions, rights, and decrees? When we REALLY TRUST Allah SWT and follow His Messenger, we comply with acceptance ... we take the whole package. Sisters get so boiled up about polygamy, seeing only their Western perspective as wife 1. There is the perspective of her husband, and the feelings and needs and heart of her sister, wife 2. Allah SWT wasn't talking to us. HE, SWT, was addressing MEN, giving them the permission to "Marry 2, 3 or 4..." Monogomous marriage isn't a promise of heaven, and it isn't the perfect deal. There are so many clueless girls, living in la-la land, with a Western "I-won't share" mentality, a pro-feminist approach, a women's rights (but not men's) stance, while they know little enough about life to make an informed choice about plural marriage. Better to rein in their non-compliance with Allah's decree, silence their un-Islamic opinions and let us women facing the option of plural marriage accept and get on with it for what it is, instead of treating us like maligned exhibits from a freak show. We don't need the monogomists' excuses, their anger and their pity, their justification, nor their voice.

Women's jealousy doesn't have to do with feminism, it's nature as the sheikh said, and it even existed in our mother Aisha RA. Women are naturally possessive and don't like competition, at least 90% of the woman population qill dislike polygyny and that's natural. Not saying it's haram at all but don't call nature feminism

Well, I want to say something very important. In the time of Abraham and Moses. The people were just writers called scribes. They were not educated in genealogy and DNA. They were uneducated in this matter. We should not go back to the times of Abraham and Moses. Marrying many women causes breading and weak genetics. Some kings did this. The Austrian Habsburg did this and there are deformities. The Zoroastrians from Persia did this. In Pakistan, there is in breading causing birth defects. The bottom line do not follow Judaism and Abrahamic religions.

Islam allows a Muslim man to marry upto 4 wives if he can fulfil the conditions and treat them equally to the best of his abilities. The Kuffar on the other hand see women as nothing more than satisfying their "animalistic" desires. Now I'm thinking this video is about the paper part of it. So nevermind and sorry I was only thinking about the emotional feeling part.

We Muslim women need to remove from our hearts this Western idea of monogamous marriage. Allah SWT gave it for good reasons. It was the Sunnah of Rasool Allah SAW which we are apt to forget.

Weakness in understanding Islam and preferring one’s own opinion over the legislation led us to what we are today. Polygamy is very good especially nowadays when fitnah upon men is a lot. Women should fear Allah and accept the ruling of Allah. Likewise men must fulfill their duties towards their wives and should fear Allah as well

ik i may not be fair in saying what am gonna say as am not a woman but will try from my perspective. forgive me oh women if u find my sayings unfair. i love u and respect u as u r our mothers, that alone is sufficient for me to honor u. what amazes me about women not wanting polygamy is that they’re so egotistical. So I’m egoistic because I don’t want to be ruined mentally? Look sister, we got problems in our lives. Some of us go through alot. I have the worst anxiety ever to the point where I can’t breath. If I’m not wanting to be in a polygamous marriage because I don’t want to make my life harder then it already is, how am I being egoistic? And also, there are more men on earth then women so we could also say, men are egoistic for taking second wives because there are already not enough women. Don’t force people to do things they don’t want. My opinion, men have right to practice polygamy and women have the right to not choose to be in such marriage.

@@TheNiceOne_ u do have the right to choose no to polygamy, but from what u say here, i understand that u already made polygamy a problem. which in and of itself is not. people make it to be a problem and mostly women do. there are definitely more women in the world than men. and by your logic most of our women will die unmarried. now am not saying that all marriages are successful but at least most women should be able to try it. it work out well for some, in the middle for some and bad for others. and alhamdulillah Allah made divorce a way out for all. i pray that Allah ease your situation sister and talk to Him. He hears your suffering.

If you believe that your homosexuality isn’t a choice, then you should not present it, even jokingly, as a choice for widowed women with orphaned children in war-torn countries where women don’t have the option of just going to college and making enough money to comfortably go to a grocery store and get what they need to make it through the week. The grocery store is rubble. They are out of flour. In some areas, without the protection of a man, they are at risk of enslavement and trafficking. The point that the sheikh was making is, it is not the standard default of humans for men to have multiple wives but rather the solution to a disproportionate number of men being killed with respect to women, and the need for those women to have a provider in rough circumstances for their children and/or the ability to still be able to be married and have children and build families, despite a shortage of men.

It's not upon anyone to "convince" anyone else what's clearly stated in The Quran, for if someone demands to be convinced, let him/her ask ALLAH, becz He's the one who made that Law. If you don't want to accept what's mentioned in the Qur'an, feel free to reject it. No one's holding you at gunpoint to believe in the Qur'an. Belief in the Qur'an and strong adherence to the Rules and regulations mentioned in it is one's OWN business. Cuz in the hereafter, no one will be responsible for what you have chosen to believe or do but yourself
