Quest for a double figure Barbel- The River Trent
I've always wanted to catch a big Barbel and the river Trent is famous for such specimens. Despite a collection of unfortunate sessions I eventually found my feet and caught my PB river Barbel.

Great video bud, addictive isn't it, this barbel fishing .
Nice watch some cracking fish and I love using the claw for my barbel fishing just holds so well
Had some good barbel of that peg your on Jacob 2-3 rod lengths out very deep spot
Double the length of your hooklength (6-7ft), if flow is strong, just ket a huge bow if line out and will hold all the time. Never used more then a 5oz cage on there. Well done on your fish
Another banger mate 👌🎣🎣

There's generally no point in London but it would be worth now he's doing the euro fishing.

My fav peg on the stretch
My Mate let you in the gate that night. I remember it well because I had a 15lb barbel 30 minutes after he spoke to you cooking your noodles outside 😂 Pete and gammo will put you right, there’s not many bailiffs like them two!
SOME BIG PIKE IN THE TRENT. TURN MY BURGERS OFF. LOL
Understand there are some huge river carp in the Trent and they are very powerful muscular fish. That is probably what when on the run and found the snag. I have had i happen to me before a few times.
Lovely video! Which rods did you use for this campaign?
Yes Jacob not far from where I grew up Southwell
Best vid
Need more uploads!
Careful on there mate with no shoes and socks on it can be bad for rats. Good video mate 🤝
Hi great blog as always 🎉where was the second stretch? As fish the A1 a lot and looking for something new on the Trent 🐳big thanks 😊
Not trying to be a know all but I wouldn’t be using expensive Nash flake as the bulk of my feed. Barbel feed over gravel 90% of the time, sucking bits into their mouths and sifting through it and also turning over stones and pebbles, that’s just where the species looks for it’s food most of the time. You want to be fishing different sized pellets and hemp, wet the night before. The pellets mix in with the gravel so they don’t flow down stream too quickly and the hemp mimics the insects they eat. Flake will wash down stream way too quickly. Don’t try to he carpy when you’re fishing for barbel, it’s not necessary. Once you’ve got the rods barbel fishing is pretty cheap bait wise.
Hello mate. You heading to the Essex carp show ?
A1 pits
a1 pits
Well done. a1 pits best
Why don't you just fish the thames for a big barbel?
All you need now is a car and some shoes.
Why don’t you go three ways in a hire of a van. I just don’t get the public transport. I did it before I was 16 travelling to London. It was a nightmare
Lol when carpers try barbel fishing funnest shit I've seen for a while
