Is there any way to get this working with charging? USB C hub and so on, how would it look like? I'd love to use this setup with my Steam Deck but battery will be the bottle neck

Of course, Hagibis capture card in PD version (which I linked) and Steam in dock/hub with connected power. There are even docks in form of cable HDMI with PD to USB C. How do you get the app from the play store into the Quest? I know how to sideload but how do I get the apk file? Thanks

The best way is side load Aurora store and install everything from there. But many people use Apkpure and other websites and apps.

Can we go beyond 1080p with adequate capture card?

Capture card has to process the video stream. Changelog of USB Camera mention new ultra fast mode (maybe for drones, high resolution cameras etc; because for VOD and playing games it was okay already).

It depends on what HDMI capture card you use. I am using FullHD 60Hz.

I don't have experience with Pro version, but I updated free version many times since I got it and every version worked.

@@backtoreality8556 just do what I did - block ads in whole system. I showed this in video about high quality VOD on Quest kzread.info/dash/bejne/pmaLzNtsZazHkZs.htmlsi=z2h6rZGp_AwcuO6n (I use NextDNS). If some day I will have another android device, I will try to buy USB Camera and copy file to Quest.

Great question. This would be a game changer if it could play 3D blu rays. Hopefully in the future some one will come up with a way to do this. It seems like such a logical thing to do.

is there anyway to play Steamvr games over this HMDI connection? Rather than using Quest Link or Steam Link ? Is there DP alternative for 120HZ and full res of the Q3 ? My goal would be to use the Q3 over real Video Wired connection and Turn the Q3 to a real PCVR headset ...

No, this is completely impossible. However with current generation GPU, good wifi and Virtual Desktop, you can have great quality without visible compression using AV1 codec. But on old gen GPU even H265 10 bit is pretty good.

@@Thomas_Voland i have and I9 9900Kf + RTX 3090, yes it's good but nothing near a real uncompressed PCVR experience. I started VR 2016 with a rift and PCVR was and will always be better and Standalone streaming PCVR ... Thanks for your answer ...

@@benor83 that’s why I switched from RTX3090 to 4070 Super (they are in the same price so I didn’t have to spend any money). Because of AV1. I recommend to check what people from Digital Foundry said about AV1 on Quest 3.

@@benor83 i used but didn’t own myself. But if people from Digital Foundry can’t recognize AV1 from native DisplayPort for sure I couldn’t too. For now I didn’t see compression, however since I switched to AV1 I didn’t play Alyx or anything else with a lot of dark areas, where compression is the most visible. I edit thousands of professional photos with models on dark background, where any compression is unacceptable and I see it immediately on a reference monitor, but for now I didn’t noticed it in VR on AV1. Maybe when I will play other games.

IT's cool if you have Samsung (Phone) Dex you can connect it to your phone.

Yes, however you can also just install 2D apps directly on Quest, however not all of them (not if they use Google services), so sometimes Dex could be useful.

What I am thinking, is if you could wirelessly or with (JUST) a Type-C to Type-C have Samsung Dex working on a Quest Window. It's VERY possible, it's just that that function is not enabled for Samsung Dex. Basically, Samsung Dex to mirror on another Android device. Im just amazed no one has developed a workaround on Git hub or playstore.

@@Thomas_Voland I believe there are Host to client video streaming apps that work through USB channel. As for wireless, There is a working way to MIrror your android screen into Quest. If there is a Android app to imulate a Chromecast reciever, then Dex on phone could find it on network and broadcast to it..

What about Samsung Dex ? This will be nice if it works👍

It should work like everything else with HDMI on the device or in the dock.

Yes, anything with HDMI should work. I was playing on Nintendo Switch this way.

It’s a nice thing to achieve this, the problem is that not being able to control the peripheral you connect at least like a touchscreen is a big limitation! 😢
