Is it sharp as G2 in center just on the whole lens ? Varjo Aero is much sharper or just a little bit sharper?

I have never used a G2, but I do own an Aero and it is clearer, though the FoV feels a tiny bit bigger on the Quest 3. In terms of clarity, the Quest 3 has 25 PPD, while the Aero can go up to 39 PPD, and I'd say the experience of actually using it is in line with those numbers in terms of how much clearer the Aero is. That being said, the lenses on the Quest 3 are better in my opinion, with better edge to edge clarity than Aero.

Insane to see where the tech is taking us and happy MR isnt the main selling point, just a neat feature!

The videos showcasing the passthrough are clearly enhanced. I got a Quest 3 and its not nearly as good as in these videos. Doesn't matter what lighting conditions I use, I think it's very misleading.

I did not touch or enhance anything. Please record on your own headset and watch the recording, and you’ll see it looks identical to mine. It’s been the same since Quest 2. Passthrough recordings look better than what you can see inside the headset. Go ahead and try it and confirm this for yourself :)

My quest 3 is probably the coolest thing I’ve bought in years. I had ordered a quest 2 and tried it out for a few days. Then I tried my friend’s quest 3 and immediately returned my 2 to buy a 3…

How much better Quest 3 is over Quest 2 for Sim racing?

It's the first thing I tried on PCVR. In terms of performance, it's just a lot more stable when it comes to Link/Airlink/Virtual Desktop, but otherwise the same. The bigger jump is in clarity thanks to the new lenses and larger FOV. Looks and feels great in AC, ACC, AMS2, iRacing and Dirt Rally 2.0.

The facial interface is insanely uncomfortable. The problem isn't the strap, it is the hard and rough interface. It feels like they decided to use sandpaper

Weirdly, the Quest 2 one felt way more itchy to me. You can maybe try one of the VRCovers, it makes it way softer and comfier.

@@VRManCave the Quest 2 was definitely worse. This one is just terrible too. At least for me. It genuinely hurts my face. I'm waiting for VRCover to release their own facial interfaces (that doesn't just go around the standard one). I'm buying the BoboVR M3 to see if i can just straight up take the interface off and use it Quest Pro style first though

I own one. I disagree with this comment. I've only logged a total of about 6 hours total so far but it breathes GREAT and fits well, and barely any adjustment needed. And the sound quality is shockingly good. All of this at a cheap price point. Surprised with this purchase.

i feel quite a discomfort in my eyes after 30-45 minutes of using the Quest3 even though I played games for 2-3 hours each time on quest1/quest2 using VR desktop and PCVR. Also I tend to notice the black divider between eyes a lot lot more than on Quest1. On the quest one i can say it was practically invisible. on quest3 it pops up over and over, then I forget about it for a while and then a bit later notice it again. Anyone with similar experience?

I didn’t have that at all with Quest 3. And seeing the space between the two eyes is really unusual. What is your IPD if you don’t mind me asking?

Just know that VR is still the focus here, MR is just a new feature and new tech to show off.

I initially thought so too, but it feels very premium, it's comfy, and you get two in the box. I've not taken mine off since I first installed it, and wouldn't recommend any products I don't actually trust and like.

Watch a movie on it, and see if that alters your opinion of the lenses. With movies (care of Bigscreen or Showbox) there is a screen door effect, but worst of all there's a cloudy glare that is more intrusive that the Quest 2s godrays. I'm acutally sending my Quest 3 back tomorrow, for a refund. It just isn't worth the upgrade, at this price!

I have watched movies on BigScreen, KZread, Netflix and have not seen what you are describing. Everyone in the market is saying how great the lenses are, so you might want to get a replacement rather than a refund because you might have just gotten a dud. It should genuinely look great and with pancake lenses in general those issues are gone.

Pass on this. I bought the Pro and if a better version came in... I'd be okay with that. But to have an incremental cheaper thing like this that spits in the face of those who invested int he pro.... It leaves me salty.

I don't think you have any reason to be anything but happy. The Quest Pro is a fantastic device and still has features that the Quest 3 doesn't. Realistically, if you own a Pro, the only reason for a Quest 3 would be if you're really into stand-alone games, as it has more processing power, but otherwise, for PCVR or other usecases, you should be more than happy with your purchase!

Quest 3 was never intended to be a generational leap over the quest pro though, it was only targeting at upping everything from the Quest 2. I mean Quest Pro was $1500 at launch not long ago, the fact the quest 3 is still better in a lot of areas is great at a $500 price point. Your expectations are strange my friend

Unfortunately most VR games are still complete garbage, not to mention Mixed Reality
