Yes!! I was just thinking about this and how I wouldn't mind seeing a screen adaption of 'Blackout.' I imagine it being a modernized take on a made for tv movie titled 'Love Songs (1999)' I remember watching growing up.

Did you guys watch the movie? I just posted that i didnt even get a chance to read the book which is sitting on my dresser.

This does look good, and I've heard a lot of good things about the book. But I'm mainly interested in the fact that Jefferey from Fresh Prince is going to be in it

The actress playing the title role is beautiful & has an exquisite voice.

I'm soo hype!! I'm from America and I read this book last year after seeing the main character in "you don't know me" reading it. I'm soo happy right now!

I went straight to Hulu and added to my list!!! I love British tv and adding a diverse cast is even better !!!

It's that white man's belief that she's angry which illustrates that he doesn't understand her. It's not that she's actually angry, it his misconception of her and what she deals with that he perceives as anger. It's not saying she's an angry black woman and that's not the story being told. She also isn't living in the projects, she works for a national newspaper🙄😒. This is based on the book, if you don't know the book just say so, don't make up a narrative.

OMG!!! I read the book some years back and finished it so quick. I can't wait for the show.

It's giving "Chewing Gum" meets "Insecure". Not sure the lead here has as much charisma as the women leading those shows, though.

yeah, that's what i was thinking. Like it has the 'gloss' of I May Destroy You - it LOOKS well made but the lead girl is not giving enough 😭Like, it looks good but i think its quality will be capped 'cause the leads mid 😭

@@desij.7487 I really enjoyed it. It was an emotional rollercoaster because you can honestly feel for Queenie. I don't want to give anything away, but I recommend the book. It also includes some important (and serious) topics that one can think about during and after reading the book :-)
