I've been in 100,000 sporting events, in fact only a few weeks previous at Wembley when the rugby league final was on, no way was there only 72000 people at Wembley for Live Aid, i'd say over 120,000. Queen had sold 150,000 at Wembley in 1976 so I think it'd be closer to that than 72000

That summer I was 16. I was glued to the TV all day. When this happened I was blown away! Too young to know Queen in the 70s, but huge fan since! I cried bitterly when Freddie died.

I’ve seen Queen twice while Freddie still alive ! I’m a 70’s teenager ! I saw all the best bands in history ! Rip Freddie you may be gone but never forgotten and a legend forever ❤💫🙏🌟

I may be agnostic, but I like to think that they're rocking out together now, fronting the best band in the afterlife. Jimi's on lead guitar; Chris Cornell's got rhythm and backing vocals; Cliff Burton's on bass, handing off to Lemmy when he wants a go; John Bonham and Neal Peart are having week long drum-offs, and Kurt Cobain's just layering some extra guitar noise over everything. This is an afterlife I could really get into.

Don't be.You'll get to see so many amazing bands...yes,i saw him in Paris and Wembley Arena and it was lit,i was lucky..but i've missed so many bands i would of loved to of seen..

One of the few good things about being not young (ok, gotta say it, I’m old) is exactly what you said. Been to numerous live concerts both before and after cell phones. No comparison. Idk about everyone else, but I would pull out my phone for the same purpose there’s recordings of this concert. Documentation and for remembering, especially since I have a bad memory.

Time when you shared your soul with the artist and vice versa. A real communion ! Best live song in the History ! Thanks Mom and Dad to make love in 79 ❤

On my tractor May 8 2024, have listened to this song and this live one seen it 1000s of times yet sitting here simply loving , crying, enjoying it with such emotions as the first time I heard it. I Love it!!!!!

This concert might be the most iconic concert in history of music.

@@d.b5471 Yes it was, yevad, but it didn't get the opportunity to be heard by millions (billions?) around the world. And Queen absolutely DESTROYED every other band who performed. To a person who was there, I have not heard anyone say that Queen wasn't the best that day.

I remember watching this Live , What a performance Freddie had. Complete control of the audience! I felt like I was watching history, and I was. We were lucky to have had Queen as long as we did. RIP Freddie!

@@andreatibbatts2815 more like 1.9 billlion as it was broadcasted globally and it wasn’t until Freddie lit up the stage they started to raise money. It had been live for 7 hours when Queen took the stage and at that point they had raised only 1.2 million but after well I think u know the rest 😊

the older i get, the more i realize that queen (and many other bands) simply enriched my life so much. freddie was simply a millennial talent, and so were roger brian and john. simply unbelievable how much good music the 4 men created, and even today, 33 years after freddie's death, their work is unrivaled. queen forever

Tens of thousands of people, no living through a smartphone, living in a moment of pure musical magic , to work a crowd like that, and bring that amount of people together , to forget everything in that moment but just be in that moment , feel it, live it and to re live it years later, no words , just something else ❤️🔥

I’ve seen hundreds of shows, and when I mention that I’ve seen Queen it immediately gets a response, I consider myself very lucky to have seen them

Around 72,000 people, in unison, raising their arms to the sky and clapping to the rhythm of a song that overpowers any other stadium anthem to have come before or since. The shot from the stage to see everyone together and in the moment with every clap is nothing short of beautiful. It's powerful. It's a sight that will never be duplicated. Almost brings you to tears to see genuine, music history. There will never be another Freddie Mercury. Nobody captured an audience like him. This is Queen.
