Tolerance, education, and opportunity are the keys to making this whole world a better place, and I see Jordan as one of the main places on Earth where this is the goal. Why can't people stop being so crass and embrace the things that we all have in common instead of warring against things upon which we disagree? The things we have in common are so much nicer and abundant.

No, she is a Lebanese American. BTW, I read that when she became widowed her adopted people of Jordan really trashed her and those closest to the throne did all they could to usurp power. Not at all uncommon in the Near East, Middle East and Africa for widows to be victimized soon after their husband's death. Traditional custom in India is "sati"--she is expected to throw herself on her husband's pyre or she's a whore (in fact, the word for widow in a dialect of India is just that, "whore.")
