I was going to suggest You Take My Breath Away live at Hyde Park '76, but I see that's already been suggested. So how about White Queen live at Hammersmith Odeon '75, it has the most spine chilling interlude in it, or Don't Try So Hard, sadly there is no live version, but it is a beautiful song. Despite how very ill Freddie was at the time, his vocals are as amazing as ever in it.

Such a beautiful performance. I always love this song. You will love Queen: White Queen live at Odeon, Hammersmith. Mind blowing both vocally and instrumentally. You will love it, I promise.

“Spectacular” is right Chad. This is from a time when the world was a much better place. 😕 Another great Queen song (similar style to this one) is “Who Wants To Live Forever” (live @ Wembley). Queen wrote it as part of the soundtrack to the movie “Highlander”. It’s stunning man ! Peace ✌️

I always love seeing Brian & Freddie perform together like this. The band always did an acoustic set doing their shows. Live is almost better. Freddie had a way of connecting with their audiences. It was a shared experience. They have so many “gems.” I see several people have suggested white queen, stay away from the eagle rock channel. They always block.

Thanks, Chad - I'm glad you noted Brian's guitar on this - did you also notice he was playing a 12-string? and at one point, he just swung the microphone out of his way... I think perhaps he might have been prepared to sing, but once the crowd was so engaged he realized he didn't need to do...

I love this song so much especially this performance. The money I would give to get a time machine and be in the crowd. I don’t know if you noticed but Brain is playing a 12 string acoustic guitar for this song and as someone who can’t play any guitar I know there has to be a lot of skill involved to play that. I would like to see your reaction to the music video for I Want to Break Free. Enjoyed the reaction.

The look on your face was enough to tell me you enjoyed this. Queen have many beautiful songs that are not classed as "hits". One of them is "In My Defence" Which is NOT a Queen song, but IS sung by Freddie, another is the live version of "Save Me" in Montreal and of course, the very beautiful "You Take My Breath Away" live in Hyde Park before 150,000 to 200,000 people. I hope that you enjoy your ride down the Queen rabbit hole.

In My Defence was NOT written by Queen. It was written by Dave Clark for his Musical “Time”. It is beautifully sung by Freddie. Dave Clark also released a Remastered HD video of Freddie singing TIME WAITS FOR NO ONE in 2019. It too is absolutely wonderful!

@@barbaramendoza2202 I'm sure that I didn't say Queen wrote the song "In My Defence" and I'm quite aware that Dave Clarke wrote it. Freddie recorded and it was re-released in November 1992 a year after Freddie died. I recommended this song because it is beautiful and heartfelt and one that I hoped that the reactor would enjoy.

Hello Chad!! This is a memorable performance of Love Of My Life by Queen! Song was written by Freddie inspired by his life long girlfriend Mary Austin. They were once engaged but ended the engagement due to Freddie’s sexuality. Mary tho very understanding remained by Freddie’s side until he passed away in 1991. He considered Mary his common law wife & left her nearly everything in his estate! Mary still lives in Garden Lodge where Freddie used to live! Was married twice & raised her children there. Commented that Garden Lodge is very much like Freddie left it some 30 yrs ago … art collection and all.

In modern-day touring of Queen+Adam Lambert, Brian May always plays/sings this himself as a tribute to Freddie... Then (thanks to modern technology) a larger-than-life Freddie comes out to sing the last chorus. Chad - Dang it! Now you are going to my OTHER favorite band...QUEEN. Best band I ever saw live (in 1980). I'll never get off the computer between Queen and the Bee Gees!!!! Queen performers. Bee Gees artists. Queen wrote great songs, all four of them, and all four were among the best musicians on their instruments and multi -instrumentalists. So varied, everything from metal to rock, stadium anthems, blues, jazz, ballads, operatic, vaudeville, pop and everything in between. They knew how to put on a show!!!! This is what you get with four brilliant but very different individuals. You likely already know this. Brian May - PhD astrophysics - guitar, piano, vocals. Freddie Mercury - Art and graphic design - lead vocals, piano. John Deacon - Honors degree in electrical engineering, inventor - bass, piano, guitar, occasional vocal backup. Roger Taylor - degree in biology - percussion, guitar, vocals. Yup, there will be some requests for sure. Was always curious if buck teeth help create amazing voices (Farrokh Bulsara and Robin Gibb). Ciao.

Even people who are not their fans have to appreciate the love of the followers and how they sing along and know the songs. I have always been a person who likes some of their songs and others not as much. The acoustic here is really pretty. But it is always hard to understand lyrics when the crowd takes over. Although it is cool to see the devotion of followers.

It’s a ballad, just Freddie and his piano,sublime. Even better is White Queen live at Hammersmith, hold on for that one, it will absolutely blow you away. Queen were always better live.

It's live performances like this that makes people b*tch about the state of contemporary music. All this had was Freddie, Brian and a twelve string guitar - a set stripped down to its bare essentials - and they both killed it on stage.

The first 8-track tape I ever bought was Queen's A Night at the Opera, and I've been a fan ever since.😊🥰 Love of My Life is on it, and imo the live version does not come close to showing what a truly beautiful song it is. Every Queen reaction I have seen uses concert footage, so I assume using studio versions is problematic.🤔
