Unfortunately is one of the few underrated Queen song. This is a really amazing version. One of my favourite Queen song❤ it makes me cry.
Why this song was never released as a single I will never know one of the best queen songs in my opinion amazing

it WAS released as a single. Unfortunate it wasn't a smash hit. Honestly should've been.
An album with so great songs that never got their chance and were overshadowed by the hits. My favourite is Who Needs You.

NOTW is a masterpiece, there are no bad songs in that album. Every song could have been a single or a hit!

There was nobody like Freddie Mercury- No body. And all the music came from inside- he had no classical training--We Love you Freddie! And Brian's , one of his best songs...
Freddie never sounded better.

Heard this in a Kurt Cobain Documentary. He said that his dad I guess had it on 8-track he would listen to this album until the battery was dead in the car.

Guitar solo is exact to the original track when I bought the album in the 70's, only difference on this track is Freddie's vocal ... much prefer the original vocals.

Where is this version from? This is not the version on my original News of the World album I bought as a kid.

The only thing different on this is the lead vocal take. There’s no piano and no different solo or ending. What is everyone on about?!

So, there’s an alternative take of this original song. That alternative take has a different vocal and different guitar solo (some other stuff too). This person put together the original recording and the alternative take by mixing the guitar solo and the ending from the original to the alternative. If that sounds too confusing, he moved the solo from the original to the alternative. You can listen to the actual alternative by just looking up It’s Late alternative. You’ll see the difference there. Hopefully this helped!
