    Patty, there was a story that came out about Prince Philip attending JFK’s funeral. If you remember, Jackie had a birthday party for John Jr. Later on she went to check on him in his bedroom. There she found Prince Philip playing in the floor with him. Very touching.

    Today was Queen Elizabeth's funeral service. From ashes, to ashes...It is truly amazing how much of history (that can be found on KZread) of the people she met. Churchill, Marilyn Monroe, JFK and his family here. Thatcher, Reagan, popes, what a life.

    I find it fascinating that her father king George Vl was the first British Monarch to visit the US and he did so in 1939 with family in tow ( Elizabeth and Margaret). Queen Elizabeth and Margaret were the first British princesses to step foot on American soil and the Queen met more US presidents than probably any member of the Royal Family ever will. She endeared herself to the American people like no other King or Queen had

    I noticed that President Johnson was not there in attendance. Most likely at the request of RFK and former First Lady, Jackie. President Johnson was the only US President that the Queen didn't meet during her tenure. The Vietnam War was being launched about that time. Which later became a nightmare for President Johnson.

    Contrary to the the Netflix idiocy and woefully inaccurate series , The Crown , it it was and remains , quite apparent that The Queen did not feel in the least bit “intimidated” by Jackie Kennedy or her much applauded “ style” . And for the sake of levity , I suggest that if it were true…..no matter the “fashion “ of the day, The Queen would not have worn , nor continued to wear such hats made so popular by the ………. Such hats , at the time , rather reminded me of my mother’s housekeeper and her “flowery “ type styled bathing cap !
