On this day in 1985, Queen Elizabeth II visited the Commonwealth country of Belize. The Queen was seen smiling as she was welcomed with a Calypso rendition of God Save the Queen. Meanwhile, near the border with Guatemala, ITN's crews captured some dramatic footage of the military exercises being staged by British army stationed in Belize as a means of deterring Guatemala from attempting to settle its border dispute by force.
