Can you tell an example for the change in legislation ? Also can the contractor proceed with variation without an Engineering Instruction, even if there is a comment by the Engineer in shop drawing / MIR / WIR? (A variation can only be submitted on the basis of revised IFC or an Engineering Instruction). Some consultants are issuing EI, which includes this comments as an official instruction for submitting the cost impact. Then all the parties are aware of the unavoidable additional cost impact scenario. My job role now is submitting variations. This video helps me in my task. Brings some new knowledge for better understanding. Thanks..

Hi Example for change in legislation/- now a new rule in UAE starting from Feb 2024 which will limit the carrying capacity of vehicle , so vehicle will need to limit the material they can load (this is to ensure the safety ) because this the price all the materials will be increased .

Ideally variation order to be issued by the Consultant for any variation to proceed . When ever you find a change be it an IFC , comments in shop drawing , comment material submission or method statement , immediately we have to issue an notification this is basically reversing or right
