That Alonso incident was a curious one when you see the whole story. So Bottas and Sainz overtook Vettel, who was slowing down where they were allowed, to get himself a clean gap. Then they slowed down to create a gap in a place where it wasn’t allowed, forcing both Vettel and Perez to cause a constantina effect and ruin both of their flying laps in time as well as Fernando to abort due to Vettel. Sorry, but Bottas and Sainz were the real culprits of causing this charade and should've got punished harsher than Vettel.

Well this is the line in F1's official website for Bottas and Sainz: Mercedes’ Valtteri Bottas, who qualified fifth, and Ferrari's Carlos Sainz, who was P11, were also investigated for going too slowly in the same section, but the both escaped a penalty on the grounds that lots of drivers were queuing ahead of them and no one could be deemed predominantly to blame.

George in Q3 just shows how much he deserves a seat in Mercedes, or any other team at this point with an actual fast car. He pushed back the 2 Ferraris from Q3, both Alpine as well... Sure Alonso would have made it into Q3 if he wasn't getting blocked off at the final straight but STILL George shows again what he is made of. Really hoping to see him doing better this year and next year.

Yes they should be appreciated and rated highly as Russell, Verstappen and Leclerc are. They are highly underrated. Hope Lando wins with McLaren and Gasly too gets a great team for winning often.

Tsunoda-kun just needed time in the oven, really. AT are an overall less-pressure team than RB, which will make it more conducive for him.

Lando has really put his name on the list of potential champions these last two seasons. He has been absolute fire Also george in q3, fingers crossed he is able to turn it into a points finish🤞🏼

That's pretty logical. Although, Russell also said "I'm loyal to Mercedes," meant that he probably trusted his future towards Mercedes F1 at the moment. Who knows what they are thinking. The better question is Daniel. I believe Daniel's contract is until 2023. He has seen what the car is capable from Lando, so the repeat of his Renault quit is quite unlikely. There is also next year's car, which is completely different from this year so I think it'd be weird for Daniel to leave before next year - unless a fatal relationship breakdown happen. If next year doesn't work either, he obviously has to find another way.

I agree, in parts. It is way better. But there is still only one team getting the win, no one can beat RB now on the races. It would be nice to be less predicable. Maybe in the next season?

Everyone doesn't act like these drivers weren't just fractions of a second from beating each other all the time and Hamilton can't stay on top forever he's 36 years old and can't keep driving at a high level, so the young drivers will get better eventually.

@@DOPEdwarf According to the commentary and evidence the drivers are only fractions of a second or 1 second apart in time that's being who's faster on the sectors the turns, who's got better control when they hit the turns, because Ferrari was battling Mercedes and now it's Red Bull, plus now Norris is hitting the corners, sectors faster, it's obvious these cars are only fractions of seconds apart in time and whoever gets the lead wins either because of tires or quick pit stops Bottas was just complaining because Mercedes did horrible on pit stops Hamilton just got caught because Mercedes didn't pit him, they thought Red Bull wouldn't pit in time and wouldn't catch Hamilton, so these races are won on strategy, tire usage & pit stops and who can hit the corners sectors faster to get the best time and starting first. How is this not fractions of a second apart ? with the same cars not modified but drivers just getting better as expected ? Ver time 103-720 Red Bull car Honda hitting the sectors the fastest. Nor time 103-768 McLaren F1 car hitting the corners sectors faster then before Norris was expected to become better eventually taking over, according to the commentators. That's 4/100th of a second apart from Vec and Norris fractions of a second both using the same cars as before but drivers eventually get better faster at the sectors. Tsu time 7th place is only a second and fractions of a second off from the rest of the top 6 drivers his time is 104-273 Sebastian Vettel is in 8th place and his car is a Ferrari, he's already won 4 championships but he's struggling due to age, his body just can't handle the car anymore, so it's not the car but the drivers, the exact same thing is happening to Hamilton, he's just getting older and his body can't respond like before. These cars are the same but it's what driver can handle the sectors the fastest without making mistakes, otherwise a fraction of a second that's lost with mistakes will take you from 1st to 8th just like it's doing to Sebastian Vettel and he's driving a Ferrari Mercedes old nemesis. Yeah thats why when I see practice results and even qualifying I usually dont worry because he comes through on the race. I think he is all over the place before the race because he is always trying crazy setups in the car so he can find even more edge, the man is not happy with a high performance he wants it all!

Aren't these cars fractions of a second from each other because of the drivers ? Norris has the same car but drives better now, not because his car is bad but because he's getting better at driving while Hamilton is 36 and getting older his body seems to be not responding when needed, this would eventually happen. How is a car supposedly so slow but all of the sudden Norris can almost beat Red Bull ?

early in the year i was like "yeah ok that makes sense for him to be struggling getting used to a new car" lando himself said he couldn't drive it the way he really wanted to, but man lando was sooo close to pole and daniel could only do p13. i love danny ric, he's one of my favorite drivers, but there's something more going on inside him right now. lando is proving that there is a LOT to get out of the car. daniel just can't seem to find it as well.

Lando is my favorite driver now what he got out of that car over the past few races is nothing short of amazing.
