I grew up in the Group C era and just assumed that's what sportscar racing would always be. To wait 30+ years and then get this is something special. The late 80s and all through the 90s were some really good races is when I got into this but it was more or less the cars this is the cars and the drivers. Not to diminish any drivers back then, play driver that had a name worth remembering was either in F1 or NASCAR.

@@anthonybonawitz444 I hear what you're saying, and I do agree that the driver line-ups today are far superior but that's not entirely accurate. Shumacher, Brundle, Nannini, Bell, Alliot, De Cadenet, Holbert, Wollelk, Schlesser, Nakajima, Boutsen, and on and on. I feel like it's the massive increase in reliability that has made the on track action so much better.

Iron Dames killed it. They had a weight penalty in BoP here and were still right on it. Respect.

Still, this was only the qualifications. Who knows what will happen during the race, wether they meet technical problems, weather changes not well anticipated by the race strategists, if their race pace will match their quali and so on? Being on pole does not guarantee a victory, in WEC, so they will need to do everything it needs to get it, with the implied fair play. Credits given to whom and were it is due for being this fast to snatch the pole from their rivals, though

It's only fair. In F1 they're even weighed after the race... can't put a 50 KG Doriana in there to drive with 80 KG males and save yourself 30 KG.

@@SuperGeronimo999 Totally unrelated. BoP affects all cars, all Lamborghini GT3 are heavier than their competitors. Doriane doesn't even participate in this race, she is in FRECA this weekend.

Attended my first WEC race and outright race today, WHAT A THRILL. I beg please, if you have the chance to go watch a race live, dont go to F1, go to WEC, IMSA, ELMS or some other category. Broadcasts have come a long way but still, its a COMPLETELY different world. The Mustang and especially the Caddy, WOW, family favourites. My dad, whos also attending a race for the first time, said hed never go to an F1 race rather than a WEC one, even if he had the money and I couldnt agree more

Ngl, that Evo upgrade for the Peugeots seems to have made them worse everywhere. At least before they were on podium pace at a couple tracks before mechanical dnfs.

Yeah, really don't know what's going on there. They were nowhere near the pace at Le Mans, and yet the BOP for this race has given them more weight. I feel like before the car had an advantage on straights due the lack of wing, but with the little wing now the car is neither here nor there, so rather than having an advantage on straights it just has no advantage anywhere

They have been absolutely hammered by BoP. This far into the season I thought the ACO might start to ease up a bit but no. Maybe next year they'll start to get some more favourable BoP mods...I understand that the ACO doesn't want to encourage mid cycle changes or show favoritism towards French teams but damn it's almost cruel...

Toyota have the experience to keep their position (i they don't spin or crash in the race), but i don't think iron dames can stay ahead, they are unlucky in races, I hope they can at least get a podium.

Great circuit for multi class endurance racing.

It is from Imola that the Ferraris are weakened, BoP distorts the races, Until they make it a slow car they won't stop, and the same goes for all the others, they decide who should win then they cripple them.

I didn't followed correctly until the end, (it finished late in Asia), but did the 2 ferrari received their penalties, before the end of the 24hours of LeMans ? I just saw one of the ferrari taking it, but what about the 2nd penalty for the other ferrari ?

Hypercar Ferrari 499 for the win. AF Corsa has a SOP of medium qualifying and great race pace. Even with the BOP.

You should do something about the flickering/wobbling TV graphics. It looks pretty annoying and amateurish. It's like watching the race on a CRT screen.

For those who think women cannot seriously compete with men in motorsport on equal machinery: watch this and think again. Frey, Bovy and Gatting have been as fast as anyone else out there the whole season, and they could be much higher in the standings if they hadn't had a ton of misfortune on their way here (watching their car being clipped by that ruthless Porsche hypercar at LM, while being among the leaders of the GT3 class was particularly painful! 😆), but I really hope that their moment to shine will arrive by the end of the season!

Very happy for Iron Dames securing pole in LMGT3 category, but someone from Hypercars, please give Toyota Gazoo racing some competition. They are the hypercar to beat. Need to see close counter racing from the other teams. Apart from Ferrari and Porsche, hardly anyone comes close. But damn, I pray that Alpine car doesn't malfunction again! Nor anyone else 🙏🙏🙏🙏
