Quake has Gyro Aiming. Gameplay with PS5 controller.

Ойындар

I highly recommend people play the new Quake remaster with motion aiming if possible! It plays much better with it on console. Especially if you plan on playing the multiplayer. A great game to try and get use to it with!
I think I'm back. Hoorah. Expect more gyro content from me.

    The beauty of this is that quake would be nearly impossible for your average Joe to tackle the higher difficulties on console if it wasn't for the gyro aiming.

    Its great to have gyro in PlayStation games 😀 i just need them to tweak it slightly so i can have more sensitivity horizontally , the switch version can be tuned way more sensitive than PlayStation at the moment 👍

    Gyro should be standard in 2021 on consoles. I can't believe that they don't add it on every game now as an option. Analog sticks are inaccurate and out of date technology for aiming.

    Got this classic on the Switch, it plays great! Cleared few levels on Hard, very enjoyable, and even placed top 3 in multiplayer against PC lol. Meanwhile, look at the aim assist in the upcoming COD, Battlefield and Halo.. it's just ridiculous, the auto aiming is real. Instead of implementing better and more capable input methods, developers are trivialising aiming even further =|

    That's a smart use of mode shift. I've thought about doing that, but in reverse. Using normal stick is great for recentering the controller without the need of a gyro off button. In the past when I've tried to use gyro I feel like I'm fighting myself. I can only assume I'm supposed to use it for fine movement and the stick for broad movement?

  • @tekgeekster

    @tekgeekster

    2 жыл бұрын

    For beginners, yes. Use the right stick with higher sensitivity to turn towards your targets general direction, and the gyro to lock the reticle on them when you're mostly there. It's smart to use your right arm (assuming you're right handed) to turn the controller while keeping your left arm still and using it as a anchor of sorts. In time, you'll learn what sensitivity you're comfortable at, and that sensitivity in gyro is better understood in degrees per second. Like having a sensitivity of 2 (not all games use this method of sensitivity scaling) if you turned the controller 360 degrees, your camera will turn 720 degrees in game. Gyro sensitivity is easy to understand because it's easier to measure distance between the game and real life. But more importantly, the game you play and what platform you play it on can ultimately determine the experience you have with gyro. Some games implement it better than others. Which game on which system are you playing?

    @@tekgeekster Thank you for this. I'm on a PS4pro and I've been practicing today. It feels very odd but I'm definitely faster on fine movements with it on. • @tekgeekster

    @tekgeekster

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you're playing quake, then playing on easy is good to practice strafing around targets. I hear the max gyro sensitivity in quake is rather low, a 2 best. You might wanna try raising it. It just takes time and practice. If you're really invested in this, then you'll learn how to use it over time. You'll eventually learn to use the gyro and stick at the same time.
