Oh yes, I know the medal stats are inconsistent, but that's from many many bad games against the bots, or almost winning a game and then just failing last minute. And the match with Xaero didn't record properly so I lost quite a bit of progress...luckily I backed up to Tier 6 but that should be your explanation, I guess.
To get this out of the way, this was done on the Spearmint engine, which is Ioquake 3 with features such as aspect correct widescreen (No more 4:3 stretched resolution), unlagged instant hit weapons, high resolution font support, four-player splitscreen, and probably the most notable one for this particular video, improved Bot AI. I can't exactly confirm the last one as I haven't really touched Nightmare on quake3.exe/ioquake3.exe in forever so I guess I'll just assume it's mostly the same with some tweaks, correct me if necessary.
High Quality Quake 3 is a mod where things like game assets and menu text have got a bit of a graphical touch, making Quake 3 look sharper in some places. No things like models or weapons have been changed, still the same Quake 3 look for the most part. The only thing it affects the bots with is some scripting fixes by the looks of it, so not much has been done to them. Oh, and it also includes The Unofficial Patch for Quake 3, including missing official maps and what not.
And almost forgot, Spearmint, while retaining Quake 3's gameplay in all its glory, is not compatible with Quake 3 demos, servers, and mods (not including custom maps), but well, you may or may not care depending on who you are. I don't really know what servers are active for Quake 3 so I can't really tell.
Explaining what maps were the hardest and why might just end up filling the description, so to summarize the hardest maps for me were:
-Q3DM2: Phobos does not mess around.
-Q3TOURNEY2: Hunter plays Hide & Seek.
-Q3DM10: Wrack is always winning with that Plasma Gun, I wonder why.
-Q3DM18: Major and her Quad Machinegun on two legs, dang cheater. It confuses me how this bot can get 3 kills in a row with the Machinegun in so little time.
Some other maps were difficult, but then there's easy ones like any map with a BFG or Q3DM19, where the bots really struggle to not die (and the map is wonky). Surprisingly the final match with Xaero wasn't too much of a pain, but then again, I played like a chicken because what other strategy works against an aimbot like him.
Anyways, erh here you go? Also please don't start some "This is bad some other person is better/I'm better/noob/etc.", it's unpleasant and only puts a negative image to the Quake community being full of elitists or some purists who can't be pleased. Let's not continue that.
And believe or not, not every player is some god at video games so further pushing some bad exclusivity is the last thing Quake needs to be relevant in today's era.

Well other people have done their Nightmare runs in the past. But yeah, those two bots sure were a pain on that map. Seriously, no idea what their magic is, but got to frag them back!
I literally still play Q3 to this day, parents got me started on it when I was about 8 years old 🤣 I'm 26 now.. too easy at this point 😭 This was dope! Great content

4:30 I think I had more trouble with Phobos on nightmare than most other bosses. Dude is a demi-god when he has Haste.

Xaero is the real nightmare 😨. Even after reading some walkthroughs, I tried so many attempts before defeating him the first time I played Q3A.

Spearmint Quake 3, you can find it in the description. It has features such as native widescreen support, something ioquake 3 is lacking. As for my copy of Quake 3, bought it off Steam, the GOG version is the same.

Was doing it as a kid. Ive not got Q3DM17, DM19, and maybe DM16. Also Klesk is hard on his map. Is it considered hard nowadays?
Beautiful!…how do you feel about the Dreamcast version? I would love to see you play through that one. As the bots are extremely difficult on that one….there is also a mouse and keyboard attachment available for the Dreamcast
13:08 and 49:19 Bot chat is a fun thing, much like the bot mic communication in Counter Strike Source. Also TankJr bot at 55:02 and 1:01:26 Seems to be in the closet himself, since he keeps saying it to everyone lol. 1:04:54-1:05:05 Biker copies what Patriot said lol.
Q3DM17 + Railgun was hands down my favorite. It required perfection and not something as crass as rocket splash damage. Sooo many hours spent turning turning my friend into gibs.
I think I'm gonna get Quake 3 too. If I wasn't so busy with school this year... Maybe on christmas

You might be better off playing Quake Champions with the Champions pack given that has people playing, unless you have a really old computer that is. There is also Quake Live which has some people playing, though a good chunk of it is Clan Arena. For Quake 3, while there are many custom maps and the bots are still pretty fun to frag, I only know of Cromctf having people playing, otherwise, it's PUGs on CPMA or pretty much no servers to choose from. But well, I'll leave that decision to you.
Will you ever do vanilla quake 3 nightmare? Also can't wait for Quake 3 Remastered 😂😂😂

Doom 2 on Nightmare by 20 lightyears. Doom 2 is just plain unfair, Quake 3 you can do some things like BFG spam or take advantage of the downsides of the AI to help you out.

Well if my computer wasn't so bad... :) That may not be out of question, though that depends. Regular gameplay and news stuff is something a lot of other people are already doing, but still I'll keep in mind.

I would but there isn't really a "story" or anything to play through with it, it's just bot matches. Still I think Spearmint supports Team Arena good so I might.
