In the part 1:23 you said 1n squared underneath the original sequence. The new sequence shows up. Well how did you get that new sequence? I didn’t understand.

I think that because it's 1n^2, she wrote out the list of squared numbers from 1 onwards. If it was 2n^2 or 3n^3, then the sequence of squared numbers would double and triple respectively (e.g. for 2n^2 it would be 2,8,18,32,50,etc.)and if it was, say, 1n^3, then it would be the cubed numbers, but don't trust me on this because I'm not 100% sure lmao

So in order to find the final formula for the nth term (which is what you're referring to at 2:40), we need to find the nth term formula for the "difference" sequence (circled at 2:26). +1 is the actual difference, so it will go before 'n', and because we don't usually write 1n, we just leave it at n. If 3 is the first term, then what needs to be added to 1 (n=1, first term) to get 3? 2! That's how you get n+2. Then you add it to the final formula and get 2n^2+n+2
