Knock this out having zero experience doing anything and I am very happy with install. I wired to cigarette lighter as per instructions since my AUX are filled and this unit has it's own switch anyway. With proper tools and patience, dash console pops out quickly with no issues. Took me longer to figure out how to disconnect cigarette lighter plug than it did to take dash apart, but all went well. Just scared I was going to break or scratch something. I will test tonight to see amount of light forward and if much light leak to cabin. Yep, I too dropped a washer and it was lost forever somewhere on floor/dash/seat (black washer on black carpet and molding is a tough find). For now, stole washer from center cover to finish light install. Now it's off to Home Depot...

I ended up taking it back off my aux switch. I figured, since it has a switch itself, I was really wasting a switch. I still have it triggered from my high beams but I only have to turn on that one switch instead of two.

Love the install. I am betting hiding the center wire loom inside the module would look much better in your already nice Jeep.

I jumped the gun on that part since I didn't realize there was a bar that would cover that.

Just curious, why is the bungees from your Alien Shade on the visor side? Mine is locate between the windshield and the frame so it’s not even visible. Might help to make a tighter seal for the light bar.

I had this on my Jeep for a year and a half and rarely used it. When I did, the light bleed onto the windshield was awful. Never mind the fact that it renders your visors completely useless after install and also cuts down visibility on an already smaller windshield. Also, the fact that Quadratec couldn’t install a lighted switch on the lightbar considering just how expensive it is - such a cheap move. I sold this lightbar about a month ago and couldn’t be happier. If you have lights on the A-pillar and lights up front, this lightbar is just complete overkill.

I wish there was a tiny indicator light next to the switch. I thought about replacing the switch with one that is illuminated. I found the fix to the light leak. Before cranking all the screws down, I pulled the rubber seal up a little. Then I pushed the unit against the windshield as I tightened the screws. That really did the trick. It really fills in a lot.

Question, i have 4xe just installed set of led light. Red wire goes to battery red. Black ground. And DRL going to heated seat. After all that plug in won’t charge.

Looks great! I'm really considering this as well, but have a question - how much heat does it produce? I have tint on my windshield, and wondering if it would pretty much fry it or not. Thank you!

That’s a great question. I haven’t noticed any heat. I’m going to have to fire them up when I’m sitting still and see but I don’t think they create much heat at all.

It's a little bit like a sun visor. It sort of adds a little shade up there. The only time I run in to issues is if I'm the first one stopped at a traffic light. You either have to duck to look under or just look at the reflection of the light on the hood. I've been looking for the reflection in the hood so it works out really well.

How do you tie the lights into your high beam? Is there an after market relay box? Thanks

Hi- I have seen several reviews now of this lightbar. My one question/concern is- is it worth it? Does it REALLY give any additional light? At least in the vids I have seen, it looks like it doesn't really add much light output beyond what you get from stock headlights

It fills in a lot of things and at a higher angle. It doesn’t have the output of a good external light bar, of course, but it gets out there pretty good. If getting the absolute brightest thing on the market is the priority, I wouldn’t do this one. But if you want some extra light without sacrificing the minimalist profile of a stock Jeep, this is a great happy medium. That’s what made me go with this light bar. I like the look of my Jeep as it is and didn’t want it to look so much like an off-roader every day. So this is a good compromise.

It’s just a tiny sliver and it’s just enough to see but not enough to be an issue. When I first put it in, there was a bit of leak. So I loosened the mounting screws and pushed it against the windshield as I tightened it. That made a huge difference. There’s a rubber piece at the bottom edge that sort of “seals” up against the windshield. I took my finger and sort of pushed against it up against the glass all the way across. It still has a tiny little bit of leak but it’s unnoticeable.

I don't understand why they have two versions: one for adaptive cruise control and not. What's the difference in the light?

That gap in the middle is the difference. My Jeep has the advanced safety group so it has that big box in the middle. So mine is actually two lights. If you don’t have the advanced safety group, it’s one light all the way across.

Just a little. If you loosen the two main mounting screws, then push it against the windshield as you tighten it down, it really makes a difference. Then, I took my fingernail and sort of pushed that rubber piece forward against the glass a little. It’s like you are sort of sliding that rubber forward. That really tightened it up. I have just the slightest sliver of light coming in now.

Ha, yes, a lot. I still don’t hear it. Like if you asked me to do a Letterman impression, I don’t know how. But I watched a lot of Letterman growing up. Makes me wonder if I picked something up or if my Ohio proximity to his Indiana roots is part of it.

Too bad if you have the one touch sky top, you can't install this.
