First off, I adore the shape and movement in this piece. It's so lovely. Regarding the paints, I know a lot of people have warned against letting QoR dry in pans but I have not encountered them being less vibrant when rewet, at least no more so than any other brand. Also keep in mind that these tubes are smaller than the typical 15 ml so ml for ml they're more expensive than Daniel Smith. I keep a few select colors on my palettes (their diox purple and quin magenta are stunning) but generally can't justify the added cost for most colors.Oh! And also, some of their darker earth tones have a streakiness to them, which I noticed on your swatch. I can't get my burnt sienna to lie our flat, though I do use their Raw Umber regularly. I do LOVE their swatches online though and deeply appreciate that from them.

OMG It's Denise! I love both you and Arleesha's videos. As a beginner watercolor user, I appreciate these reviews. Now I know that most likely I won't be purchasing QOR bc of the price and how it's super flowy, I don't think that will be very good for a beginner. Might end up frustrating me. lol >

I've also used them dried from pans and not felt like I'm missing out on pigment punch!

Man, now I feel really picky about the fresh/dry paint thing! I suppose I just prefer them fresh. :) And I totally agree with you about the earth tones being streaky!! I wanted to mention that and totally forgot. That's a great point about the price - I hadn't calculated the tube size difference. ❤️

arleebean you're allowed to be picky! All paints are more vibrant from the tube to some extent, I just never want to bother with the tubes haha. I have finally admitted defeat to gouache though. They really are so much better from the tube :p
Those swatches must have taken forever for them to compile. I respect their throughness.

Sunrise Sketch they also provide hand painted swatches to brick and mortar art stores. It's just a large square with opacity but the care they put into people being able to see their color before buying is beautiful.
I haven't notice a problem with reactivating my QoR paints, and I've had them in pans since christmas. I love them for their vibrancy. The diox purple and quin magenta are my absolute favorites.
i relly like the name "aquazol" is pretty smart cuz Aerosol= something that spreads on air Aquazol= something that spreads on water :/ hm

I like the warmth of this glowing skin you painted there, it's really pretty. I've never tried out QoR myself, but they seem to be very nice - although I'm not sure if it justifies the price. They are way more expensive here than Schmincke or Daniel Smith.
Very lovely flowy piece. Super happy to hear QOR has made your list!! I haven't experienced any lack in pigment after putting the colors in pans and letting them dry. My first swatches of them from tube and dry in pan are nearly identical. They do reactivate very quickly and there are a few colors I've come across that were incredibly sticky and took a lot of scrubbing to remove from my porcelain palettes. I would strongly recommend buying the sets for those dipping their toes in. It's a lot cheaper for a set of 6 or even 12 (5ml tubes) on blick and amazon than buying the 11ml tubes.
I love Qor paints! They're actually a brand that I mention in a lot of my palette build videos.... though not by name. =>.>= True story! I started with Qor with a random handful of paints from that art shop we went to, and decided I liked them enough to get more. So I got the big 24 or 36 set or whatever it is. Partly for the paints, but also for the big, beautiful metal tin because it has a lot of potential as an ultimate travel watercolor kit. So I went about labelling my pans, putting magnets on them, filling them, and then setting them aside to dry, with the lid open even though it means there's plenty of Bubba hair in my paints at the end. =>.

Meow Meow Kapow You always have to knock over a new palette. It’s tradition. Or at least for me. I have yet to put together or purchase a palette and NOT knock it to the floor.
Love the flow of the paint 🎨!!! Great for wet on wet
Love the piece. Hear what you're saying about the luminosity of the skin at the start, but I still love it at the end. So evocative and powerful. Gorgeous. You inspire me so much. I have grown so much from watching your videos.
I can't get over how much I love the hand and arm! Am I the only one to get stuck, completely transfixed by certain details or parts in works of art? I mean, I love the whole thing! But just, I mean, that hand?! 😍
I loved how these paints curve and flow on the painting as if it’s an actual 3d surface. It’s so cool.💙
Your art is so lovely. Everything has so much life to it, I love it! Great review of these paints! I don't really know anything at all about paints, so it was interesting to hear you talk about the colour flowing. I had no idea that could differ between watercolour brands !
I love the painting, it looks whimsical, thank you for the review
Love seeing you paintings come to life. Congrats on the success of your Skillshare tutorials btw... they are really fabulous.
This piece looks amazing, if you hadn't told me you weren't happy with it 100% I wouldn't have known. I use my QOR in a pan and haven't seen any issues with rewetting so you will to totally safe rewetting from your palette. Look forward to seeing what else you paint with these.
Ooh this video is awesome, I have some experience with Qor watercolours, but I struggled with achieving the vibrancy others did, but I often reactivated paints instead of using them from the tube, so I will definitely give the straight from the tube a try! :D I love the artwork you've created, it's so inspirational.
Wow, I've, never heard of these watercolours before. Thanks for reviewing them. Your artworks is also really gorgeous
I just got my set of these paints today! Thanks for the video!
I got a set of 6 a few months ago and I’ve been loving them. I’ve been looking for reviews on them to see what more experienced artists thoughts of them so I was really excited to see this😁 Loved the video❤️❤️
QoR was the first brand of professional paints that I purchased. I still have the ORIGINAL 5ml tubes that I purchased in introductory sets. And it has been over TWO YEARS. Whereas I go through my Daniel Smith really fast because they don’t compare to QoR vibrancy. I poured the paints into half pans over two years ago and the colors react well and are still vibrant. I still have to be careful to not put too much at first when I’m trying to slowly build up saturation. Daniel Smith fresh from the tube is less vibrant than my dried QoR pans. It’s nuts how long these paints last and I paint everyday and I sell my artwork. From time to time, I do paint straight from the tubes. (The original ones that I still have paint in) and this is when I’m painting something Thani want EXTREME vibrancy. Best purchase I’ve ever made.
I love the colors! I understand it’s not what you were aiming for, but I find them beautiful!
I love it. It is so beautiful! I love your videos as well. They are so calming to watch and very informative. Those paints are very interesting.
WOW!!! IT'S AMAZING!!!
I love your artwork your such an inspiration
Great video! And amazing paiting!
I think that piece turned out beautiful 💜
God these videos are so well done and peaceful! I love how they turn out, especially the rainbow skin ones❤️👌
I own Qor as my main paints I use in my art, and I love them so much 💕 I have the 24 set.
I really like the finished piece the composition and concept is beautiful. I am vegan so my choice of pro-water colours is slightly smaller than many. I have the set of QOR earth tones and they are definitely my favourites to paint with just above my Kuretake gansai. I have them dried in half pans because I often take my paints out for urban sketching and I really like the rewetability. You've definitely shown me some other colours I would like to pick up
You are SO gifted!
I got the intorductory set today and I gotta say I love the color selection in it, it's a very nice collection and was in the end cheaper than buying single tubes for me. The lady in my favorite store just went "oh you GOTTA see this!" and got me to try them and I just had to have them! * _ *
thats it! you've convinced me to give them a try! :)
I have QOR in tubes, dried in pans, and as a pan set. If any configuration of QoR is most concentrated in color, it's the pan set. But they are all pretty amazing. They're also vegan, made in the US, and that flow....wow! I've tried Sennelier, W&N, Mission Gold, and a limited amount of DS. But I'm hooked on QoR because of the way they move. As you said, it's mesmerizing.
the thing i really love is that since these are so vibrant, a little seems to go a long way, at least for me!
Love this piece !
I love this piece !
I have the high chroma set, its effin gorgeous!!! I have them in a pallet and I think they are amazing, they rewet super easy.
Wow! What a nice water color. I just use cheap ones so seeing this video seems new to me.
I’m really glad you did this😁 I’ve been looking for some beginner tube paints, these might be my choice now Also I think the piece is really gorgeous😍
I got the introductory set on christmas last year and QoR have been my favourites since then (I don't love my other paints any less, which basically contradicts saying QoR is my favourite, it's just that I use them the most) I use the lid of the metal set to put down paint blobs which I rewet and use after the paint blob has dried I have not experienced the color being any less vibrant, but I really want to see a comparison, so I'll be swatching them in my new color testing sketchbook once it arrives! I'll maybe come back here and update you guys!
Oh my. I have a hard time not wanting all the art supplies. Love your illustration in all it's beauty. I've not tried these personally but I did see a swatch for their cobalt teal and I wonder if it's that luminous. (Or maybe just the way my screen views it differently)
I just got the earth colors last week! 😊
I have these and I love the intensity and that they are already pretty liquidy even after drying. I also have a cheaper 20$ pallet cuz I could afford that many and needed brown
I LOVE this concept/sketch. Will it be available as prints or original?
I really like this piece
I love qor colors. I use ultramarine blue all the time on my channel!
Ive been using these paints now for the past 3 months or so. I too LOVE the way the paints flow. In addition, I haven't found an issue with vibrancy as other reviews have mentioned when re-wetting them from a dry state in a pan. I adore the flow of these paints, and their color mixing is so yummy - I actually find it hard to make these muddy as compared to D. Smith paints. I have yet to try mixing them with traditional binder paints though. Any thoughts, feedback, or experiences on doing that with these paints? Thanks, as always, for your thoughtful and well produced thoughts and content! PS - The illustration was GOR-GEOUS!
Beautiful art thanks for sharing :)
Great review! I'm slowly replacing a number of my watercolors with the Qor colors. I'm primarily an acrylic painter so having that extra vibrancy is a big deal for me. I'd be interested in your thoughts on these compared to Daniel Smiths.
Lovely piece, I think the warmth works. 🙂 on another note, what are your other two favourites in your top 3?
I like the way you've painted this peice and I love the fluidity and movement and subject matter. What is the brush you used??
Not sure if it’s the camera but I like how the saturated colors that made up the skin seemed to make wolf head pop and stand out. Not sure if that was the goal but I love the overall look of the piece. Love your work! 😍
Good review. Thank's
I have been hearing about this brand a lot recently and this review was very helpful! I rarely use paints straight from the tube but now I want to try that with the watercolors I do have and test their vibrancy compared to when I reactivate them :o I may check out the half pans of this brand because I never buy those and I want to find something compact that I can 'travel' with easier ^^;; Also the painting you did is beautiful and I love the effect of the tears (?) dripping down~
I LOVE QoR watercolors! Nickle Azo Yellow (PY150), Green Gold (PY129), and Indanthrone Blue (PB60) pigments are used to create paints with stunning properties and depth. Some of their Earth tones can be finicky to work with, but their unique quality is well worth taking the time to explore and enjoy. Golden as a company is, in my opinion, leading the pack when it comes to producing high quality products, researching pigment and binder properties, and pushing art into the future. QoR is a perfect example of how Golden took the classic standard formula for watercolor and reinvented it. I could go on and on about how Golden continuously strives to improve its products... To end with a side note, if you are a lover of oil paint and dislike acrylics or want to try an acrylic that behaves in many ways similar to oil, try Golden's OPEN acrylics. Amazing products!
This piece turned out gorgeous! These watercolors are defenitly on my list of musthaves! But right now I already bought Polychromos (120 tin set) I saved up the money I made from portraits. It is so rewarding to be able to buy stuff that you really want and have worked really hard for. Next on the list, however, is water soluable sketching pencils, and I hope to get some tubes of these too. Is this going to be a print? Because I'd order it and love it and cherish it forever! :P
What brush do you use? I can't find it in the description and it looks to work amazingly
Love the video! Can you do a comparison in which you compare Qor and White Nights? I am really conflicted between them 🙂
What kind of pencil are you using for the drawing/sketch before adding the paints?
what brush do you use?
What happens w the various mediums sold for QoR watercolors?
Is there a video that talks about the red pencil you draw in? I having found one yet. :)
What paintbrushes are those?
Can you do a Jane Davenport neutral watercolor review?
Im assuming you had a refrence photo? I would really love to know where I could find it
Lovely
Qor DOES have the same yellow as Sennelier’s Naples Yellow (PY53); Qor has PY53 called Nickel Titenate.
coooooooooooooool 💁🏻
Just wondering what size your brush is haha
I’m on a quest to find the best watercolor that just jumps on the paper but at thesame time not too vibrant.
Hello there.!!! What size is your tray??... I really love it and Im going to get one. And also going to try this brand of watercolor sounds fun. Lets see what happend.

I WANT THIS ART PIECE PLASTERED ON ALL OF MY BELONGINGS
Мне нравятся ваши работы ( я из России)
the piece kinda looks gorey to me, the wolf's head looks like the upper part of the head but I'm guessing you drew the rope so it looks like his muzzle is tied down? Tl;dr i feel like more blood is necessary, bloody tears, blood paint splats... the works lol. Sidenote you mentioned that you pushed the saturation too far from the pastel point and muddied it, but I think that maybe you should've ventured further and just pushed the saturation more lol
All needs be said about this paint is: Qor works more like ink than paint. The end.
too expensive for me🤧
I don’t get it this art piece, no huge fan if I am honest. But thanks for the video and time :). The Qor paints I will try out though.
