The “stand on the right”, “walk on the left” for escalators & moving sidewalks ABSOLUTELY is a thing in the U.S.!

I'm an American who has visited England many times. I find it odd that Londoners stand on the right and pass on the left, but when driving on the motorway it's the opposite.

@@hemiolaguyit dates back to medieval times. During jousting tournaments, the horsemen would gallop on the left hand side of the escalator, freeing up their sword arm, the right, to take out standing tourists.

David L. Woods et al. published a study claiming that modern reaction times were the same as those measured by Galton in the Victorian Era. They found two sources of the apparent discrepancy: (1) all modern studies use computers but do not accurately measure the latency introduced by their hardware and software, and (2) Galton did not use the same statistical methodology as modern studies. In Woods's opinion, for which he cites Y. A. Dodonova, Galton actually recorded the best time of three trials, not the average time. Another possible issue is that many modern studies aggressively exclude outliers. Dodonova points out one study that excluded all response times less than 200 ms, which was apparently a common practice, but which removes a substantial percentage of responses and vastly increases the mean time. Whatever the case, the results of Woods's study are consistent with there being no change in reaction times in adult Western populations between the 1880s and today.

Someone who studied chemistry at MIT told me how one of their classmates failed the Massachusetts driving test. The question was "True or False: Carbon-dioxide is a colorless, odorless gas." Being a chemist, she answered "True." However, the answer that they were looking for was "FALSE, carbon-MONoxide is a colorless, odorless gas.

Its probably because i spam them with comments that my videos (on alt account) have higher views and ill continue to upload full episodes unless they do. they unfortunately chose an episode that ive already uploaded 5 months ago. so obv, theyre not going to be getting the views.. lol

There is a parachute system for Cirrus aircraft, and BRS Aerospace makes a system that can be put on Cessna 172 and 182 planes. These are all light aircraft, I am not sure if you could make such a system for an airliner, but Alan's idea wasn't actually bad!

Just watched a documentary about Ethiopian Airlines flight 961. In this instance life vest probably were the reason people died. The flight was hijacked in the 1990's. The hijackers demanded they fly to Australia but there was only enough fuel onboard to get to the next stop and a bit more. They ended up attempting to land near the Comoros. The passengers who were panicking inflated their life vests before the crash and their inflated life vests prevented them from escaping the plane after the plane landed in pieces in the ocean. There were survivors but not very many.
