NO way he deserved that much money. The more they pay these QBs the better it is for other teams. Pay that much for one guy and you cannot afford to put good players around them.

He’s not really saying the QBs should take a cut, it’s just objectively absurd the amount of money going to unproven QBs. It’s hard to disagree that the numbers of crazy now.

The Jones comparison is not good for Jones, 5 vs 3 tears with a dud 1st season for Lawrence, and 1000 yard separating the 2 and injuries that lower Jone's yards is a negative. Jones and Trubisky numbers are about the same with more starts, in my mind Jones is Trubisky+ until proven otherwise.

Sports is entertainment. Not a meritocracy like we fans want to pretend it is. Don't Top actors get tens of millions of dollars to be in 1 movie because they draw viewers? Same with athletes. Sometimes how many eyes they bring to the sport is as important as actually how skilled they are.

Finally, someone is discussing what everyone knows, and what I have been saying for years, that QB’s are way overpaid and could be the downfall of the NFL! Why doesn’t anyone discuss the idea of a top 3 and/or top 5 cap? Seems to me that every player who isn’t getting paid like a superstar would support a plan to more equitably distribute the wealth!

What about the Lambs? Stafford is not happy with 31!

What Jacksonville gets: 1. A reputation of paying players as an organization. Cannot understate this. 2. The ability to ask TL to renegotiate a more team friendly deal in the future when they are contending. This is a mush easier ask when he has 100+M in the bank.
