The part of this that gets left out is from 2008-2020 the jags averaged 5 wins a season with like 2 years with less than 10 losses. Also during this time the jags had 2 winning seasons. So basically, the last 2 years with Trevor matched the last 13 seasons in terms of winning records

Jag fans are being honest though. The team that has had the most Commercial Breaks during the Drafts right before their Pick is the Jaguars and it's not even close. It's at least a 3 or 4 to 1 ratio and had been for 10+ years. You can't downplay this or say it's manufactured/conspiracy when time and time again if the Jags are on the Clock, the chances of a Commercial Break highly increases. This is coming from neither a Jag fan nor Florida native. I'm simply a watcher of the NFL and their Drafts.

Jags fans are coming after that dude whose name I cannot remember because he said some dumb stuff. In the same conversation that he said Trevor wasn't worth it because his production can be achieved for cheaper, he brushed off the question of whether Purdy would be successful in Carolina. Those are mutually exclusive positions. QB production is also less valuable because it doesn't account for things like the injuries Trevor sustained in the last third of the season, up until which he was unanimously a top 10 QB.

LOL We don't play bout our jags I’m not sure why teams are paying big bags to guys who haven’t done squats… do you really think your quarterback should be paid Mahome money? Ridiculous I love Rich and have no issue with him. But here we are still listening to Journalists not doing Journalism, and getting the full details of Trevor's deal. Journalists not doing Journalism is why this is still an issue a week later. It's not a 5-year deal for $275. It's a 5-year extension to his remaining 2 years. It's a 7 year contract which brings it down to 43 million which is under Kirk Cousins's deal. Trevor is at $11 million against the cap this year $25 million the following year and when he finally gets into the big money it's 2027 season when they have an option to restructure at that point. Just tell the truth it's not hard. Wow, rich. I used to appreciate your opinion but you got to lay off whatever you're on brother. we gonna win the AFC South Do you honestly believe Trevor Lawrence is ever going to play in a Super Bowl? That's why giving him this contract was a bad move. The Bengal Super Bowl appearance was a fluke. Burrow is injury prone and they won't be back. Mahomes is licking his space cops for a restructure! Lawrence got tht$?, I'm asking 75 million Fun Fact: Trevor Doesn't Have To Live Up To His Contract. No Incentives Either. He can be ultra-conservative now. You know, stay healthy. :-) Let's be honest, at least 10% of that contract is because of the hair. The hair is good for a $5m a year bump up. No, I'm with Chris on this one...... he's not worth what they're giving him he hasn't proved anything When TL says the contract doesn't change anything and the goal is the same he is actually wrong. What QB didn't take the biggest contract to give his team the chance to pay their other dudes? Tom Brady. Did he win championships? A few of them I guess. Is there another guy who did that? Yes, his name is Patrick Mahomes. Ah, could this be the guy that has already won 3 rings? Yes indeed. Could it be that the 49ers are almost always in the playoff finals because they have the luxury of paying skill positions instead of QB? Are there any examples of teams that paid their QB huge amounts of money and now struggle to keep their team together? Oh yes, plenty. So don't tell me this BS that paying your QB top money doesn't change anything, especially from a team that has a star pass rusher and then a whole bunch of slight averageness Better QB, RB, WR, and TE than the Jags? Not even close. 49ers. Purdy (better), CMC (best), Aiyuk or Deebo (better), and Kittle (Best or 2nd best). It is not that Rich is wrong; he is correct; Meyer was a past year for Lawrence. This year is really his put-up or shut-up year. But Chris makes a point if Lawrence was the "shiznit," then Urbin would not have mattered. Yes, it is a lost year, but year 2 does not start without a full season of seeing NFL defense from behind the butt of your Center. Regardless of his performance, the snaps are not meaningless. If we say that the stats within year one don't count, his second and third-year performances should improve even more from the benchmark, knowing how bad it was, because he was that good. The delta between 21 and 22+23 is about 7.5% more completes, +500 more yards, 2x TD - 6 Int (although he threw 14 last season in one less game than 17 as a rook) QBR 39.1 to 56.1. He is right behind Carr at 16, as of 2023. He was 11 the year before, behind Herbert. To Chris' point, which does he deserve, Herbert's money or Carr's money? This is his year 3, we will see. But, did he get paid early, yep.

Does anyone remember josh Allen’s first playoff game? I think against the texans, he did this completely unnecessary, bone-headed lateral, in a moment of panic. At the time, I remember thinking, this guy will never be a stable franchise QB, because you can’t teach composure. Some people are cool under pressure, others aren’t. I was obviously wrong. He has learned and improved significantly, even in that area. It’s reasonable to bet that lawrence will make major strides in his development in the next few years. Definitely better than the alternative

Nope. The way to get to Super Bowls is to keep picking QBs until you find a winner. Look at the Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles, and 49ers. You don't settle for good at QB. Good is sitting at home in February.

To live up to a $50M/yr contract, the QB must win a SB. Only one wins per year. This does not compute.

If Lawrence's first season doesn't count because Urban Meyer is incompetent and the Jags made a terrible decision hiring him, can we discount the years the Jets had Adam Gase as a coach? During his tenure in NY, I don't think they could've beat JUCO team. Adam Gase is one of the worst coaches of any sport ever.

As a jags fan, obviously Trevor Lawrence isn’t the best QB in the league. You might question why he got paid that much. But he’s probably the best QB we have ever had and we can not lose him. We have more faith in our team than we have had in a long time. We have to go all in

Small market teams have to pay well if they ever have any hope of luring a free agent to the team. If you're a small market and you pay meh, who the F is signing up for that? Nick Wright will play up the Lawrence playoff victory, where he played one of the worst playoff game half’s in history. But then craps on Purdy playing below average for one half against the Lions, but still playing objectively better than Lawrence.
