Seattle's Pro Bowl Quarterback Geno Smith joins The Pivot to talk his comeback story from overcoming adversities in a sports world who wrote him off to finding himself again as one of the top QBs in the NFL.
In a rare moment, Smith who's known for being quiet and often reserved, is opening up to address early criticism of his NFL career, how he overcame certain perceptions on and off the field, dealt with conflicts and regained his confidence leading the Seahawks to the playoffs this season.
Geno talks with Ryan, Fred and Channing addressing some of the obstacles he faced from draft wknd, to playing in NY to a fight with a teammate and how his close upbringing with his family helped ground him and shape the man he is today.
Being one of the few black starting quarterbacks in the NFL, Geno shares his excitement and pride in seeing Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts face off in the Super Bowl and makes his pick as to what team he sees winning it all and why.
Tap in every Tuesday at noon eastern for our premiere episode of the Pivot. Special NFL seasonal drops on Friday afternoons at 3:30 pm. We are your one-stop platform for all your sports and entertainment content.

Damn, Geno is the most realest and coolest QB in the NFL. Dude went from being extremely smart as a kid, to a gangster, a professional athlete and now a real leader. The best part is he is still all those things, he just learned to take the best traits of all those versions of himself and become who he is today. I would love to have him on my team any day. I'm definitely not a Seattle fan but I'll be rooting for Geno to become the face of whatever team he plays for.

Geno deserves everything. Such a humble guy. Can’t wait to see what happens with him. I think he’d be in such a good situation if he sticks with Seattle for 2-3 years. Just depends if they will pay him his worth. Geno is smart enough to leverage himself for as much money as he can get. Well deserved Geno congrats!

I'd like to see Geno on a 4-year deal. Giving us the freedom to draft a stellar Defense. We can trade future first-round pics to draft Geno's replacement in 2024 or 2025.

@@italianknight78 2-3 years is the golden number. We eat around $100 million for Genos contract, while still being below 10% of the current cap hit. It allows us to keep Geno even if he doesn’t play elite in the next 2 seasons. He’d be a great mentor for whoever is up next. People still forget that Drew Lock got a fresh start in Seattle as well. I’m sure we’ll sign him for around 5-6 million a year

I think 2-3 years is good for him. He’ll make 20-25 a year. Maybe a little more and prolly get 45-50 mil guaranteed which is a huge win for him. Especially when u consider the fact that if he repeats this year success he can definitely get an extension. It’s the best of both worlds.

Geno is great and I am glad he did this interview. I always felt that the Jets didn't give him the time or space to develop and grow. I was so happy to see he was starting for the Seahawks. Better late then never. Also, such a dynamic individual. We are multilayered people just like everyone else. This podcast has done a great job of showcasing that. Continue the great work RC, CC and FT.

I really Loved this interview with Geno. The Pivot crew, did an Awesome Job! It was very entertaining, & very insightful. It gave, me a perspective into the Man, & not just the QB. To see that Geno had struggles, & still kept pressing on. It is very Encouraging to me, as an Entrepreneur. Because, you have your ups, & downs. So, to see that Geno's Belief system, in self, motivated him to keep going! Is so what I needed to hear, to keep pressing on myself! Anything, I hear, see, or encounter. I always try to see, how I can benefit, from that enlightenment, in my own Life!
