Eric Dickerson, The NFL's most iconic running back, joins The Pivot for a legendary conversation talking the Pony Express scandal, SMU's football death sentence, his NFL career and current running backs in the league today. The LA Rams hosted Channing, Fred and Ryan in the "Rams" Hollywood House for an evening of great conversation and memorable moments.
Wasting no time, Ryan and Channing get right into Dickerson's days at SMU and the money scandals that followed him and his college teammates during that time and the infamous Trans Am story. Sharing what really transpired back then, Eric opens up about how all of that really played out and how it has affected his legacy.
Fred talks the skill set of the NFL running back position during Eric's playing days and asks him who the #2 and #3 Rams running backs are in history and who the top 5 current backs today.
Considering himself a Ram for life, the foursome discuss how Dickerson never wanted to play for another team, the current Rams roster with recent super bowl run and what really went on with the talked about ticket situation with Dickerson's seats.
The Pivot Podcast releases new episodes on KZread and all audio platforms every Tuesday at Noon eastern with special drops on Fridays at 3pm Eastern. Find exclusive Pivot merchandise and stay connected with us at www.pivotpodcast.com.

My stepdad helped Eric Dickerson change his flat tire on his Porsche 911 right outside of the big A stadium in Anaheim 1985. I was 6 years old and he shook my hand and gave me his autograph. I framed it and still have it..

@Michael Jurek IMO It's not the money, it has to do with the fact that the game was dramatically different in its application of violence. Case in point, ED casually brought up eye gouging was a common thing during his era. Well... 25 years before that the applied violence was even worse. MLB was the only major sport that until recently was in essence the same game it was 100 years prior.

I've always thought that he was a brilliant football player. His contract negotiations, while harsh when it was happening, set the tone for getting players paid what they were worth. It was criminal how the Rams paid him. I love his interviews. Just a smart humble guy.

I worked with a guy at Sam's Club who played for the Denver Broncos who told a vivid ED story. Him: I was a LB . 240...10% body fat. ED came in the hole on time, I got low. I hit him at the 50 and I woke up 10yds later and he was still running.

Dickerson is so right about eye glasses back then. They were really expensive and if you broke them it would take two or three weeks to get another pair. And did I say expensive! I got the cheapest frames they had back then and they were sorry. I'm talking the 1970's. I pay way less now for an eye exam and a pair of glasses then my parents paid back then. I know my glasses and exam cost at the least $100 dollars back then and now I can get an exam and glasses for less than that.

This was a dope interview. This was a nice balance for the casual football fan and you don’t have to know all the stats to know ED was good and a good person that the hosts have a lotta respect for. Great job!

This podcast makes me laugh every time! I enjoy the way that these men allow their guests to explain their stories and go through the timelines of their careers. I am truly proud of seeing these three men come together and discuss the different issues and topics that not everyone is willing to go into. I've learned so much from these podcasts that I look forward to them popping up on the feed. The talent that has come through here is pure excellence and I wish you all the best and the most success that comes from this podcast. May you all be blessed, along with your families and God be with you along every step.

Had a smile on my face from the moment Eric walked in the door. Big ED fan. Took a road trip to Cleveland and then hit a few when I lived in Cali. Love what he's doing these days to impact the younger guys. You guys never let me down. 👏👏👏

I’m a 65-year-old fan grew up watching Eric Dickerson I got to try it with the 49ers and 80 they drafted Earl Cooper another big back I don’t know what happened to them I just know I always watched Dickerson what a great interview what a great man I love his humility And his confidence and the guy was way underpaid. It makes me sick to think some of the players that are making the money they are today and these older players that were twice or three times. The players of these people are got so little but the one thing you can’t take away, his personality and Eric Dickerson is a class act.
