Qawwali Mehfil with Farid Ayaz and group - 5
Farid Ayaz ensemble performed for a private mehfil that I and few friends jointly organized in Karachi in April 2012. It was a spiritually uplifting performance that was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. Besides myself, the other hosts included Sadia and Naseer Hasan (at whose residence we arranged it), Dr Nighat Khan, Baber Aktam Khokar, Maria Qureshi, Dewan Abdullah Farooqui, Mian Ahmed Hussain and Rizwan Qureshi.

Fareed Ayyaz Quwal is who feels the poetry and justifies quwali. He is at present only Unique Quwal of sub continent whome has his own style and Kalam always recited purified and superhit.
हाय कैसे कटे उमरिया , आस ही आस में बीती जाए। हमरे नैन दरस बिन तरसे, बालम तुम बिन कछु न सुहाए। तोरी प्रीत के कारन हाय, मोसे रूठे अपने पराये। सब रूठे इक तुम ना रुठियो, तुम रुठियो तो गजब होइ जाए।
Bound to leave a comment! This is superlative, and I am daring to say this - if its someone after Nusrat Sa'ab who feels the poetry and justifies 'Qawwali', Fareed Ayaz Sa'ab is the one! Elated to find him, hear him and enjoy him. God bless your souls!

No disrespect to Nusrat Khan Sb. I believe that Ayaz Fareed and Abu Muhammad Sb are better Qawwals than Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

With utmost respect to Nusret saab, a legend... I personally consider Fareed and Abu far far far superior than Nusret. Nusret is a vocal genious. Fareed saab is a guru. Some magical human. full of wisdom

I have listen thousands of times. Touching deeply. A best Mehfil and a best singer ever I have listened.
After Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Ayaz sab is the best Sufi singer. He touches my soul

A great private concert by the ustaad but pity about the poor lighting, production and sound. I wish I had attended this concert in person. It must have been an unforgettable pleasure.
