Decades ago, now, we flew LAX to SYD on a 747-Combi (part passenger and part freighter). We had to stop in Tahiti so that they could clean the plane and change crews. It was a "haul and a half". Would love to try the non-stop from Dallas. Probably won't get the chance to.

I flown on the A380 a few times. including QANTAS, Emirates and British Airways between Brisbane and London. Actually wasn't all that keen on it for a number of reasons. From a recording point of view there's quite a gap between the inner and outer windows so the viewing angle is less. The wing chord (width) is so long it tends to block out most of the landscape no matter where you sit too. The A380 (depending on the airline's configuration) hasn't got that standing point at the rear near the toilets (like the 747) where you can stretch your legs and look out the rear door windows on either side. It also pisses me off (not just the A380) where you've selected a window seat specifically to take advantage of the view and they keep telling you to close the blind; day or night!

  • @k.p.1838

It's not by law nor FAA regulation that airlines need to turn off the light while taking off, ... unless you are afraid of boogieman, they will leave the lights on for you. Beside you will have your late meals 30-45 min after take off anyway some crews would not bother to shut off until 2 hours after your meal.

  • @rdc2724

The reason for dimming the lights is safety, so that in the event of an evacuation, the eyes of the passengers will be adjusted to the dark! So it's strange (and dangerous) that some airlines don't do this!

Great vid. Thanks for sharing :) I am hoping to fly Adel to LA next Jan/Feb and would love to fly on the Qantas A380. However, I was recently advised by someone not to fly on an A380 as the seats are old and very uncomfy. I'll be flying economy. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not please? I'd like to be comfy on my first flight overseas. I was told the new 787's are a lot more comfy and more roomy, bigger seats, so not so squishy. Is this true? Thanks for any advise :)

In the video, the stewardess said that during international travel, you may have been exposed to a communal disease. Has anyone ever had that experience when flying to another country?

Masterjedi688 No BUT if you’re traveling somewhere, make sure to see if you need to have some shots. When I went to Brésil, had to take specific vaccines. (My trip went smoothly.)

4:24 OMG! Well, then I should say, no flying directly to Australia, New Zealand, or any Pacific Ocean Islands that are in the middle of the ocean directly, because it is overnight flights, trans ocean only (quite dangerous), and also, unnecessary expensive! So, no direct flights from LAX to Australia, we need to always take layovers, and fly transatlantic, that is a better choice than transpacific.
